  • Hope someone can point me in the right direction here.

I am a serious golfer who has just started working on a golf instruction/advice book which I believe looks at the factors of the game that traditional instruction books miss out to their detrement.

I bought a golf instruction ebook off ebay and to be honest it's content was laughable even though it was only £1. Is the ebook method worth pursuing (and if so how) and how can I protect my content?

    Thanks

Yes Laurence, I think you should go for it! You have a unique point/angle on a popular subject so you should deffo cash in on it!

In regards to copywriting your material, I guess this is hard. However, you could consider up'ing the price of your ebooks and selling them with copy rights meaning the buyer can distribute as they please. This can add quite a bit of value to your book.

Check out http://www.clickbank.com/index.html for more info. They also run a service where they will post your ebooks and market them for a small % of the profits.

    Good Luck! :)

I'm in the process of setting up as a semi-professional photographer, equestrian events and property (with a unique angle). I use photobox as a sales channel, they take 10%, if you want to make money from them you'll need to advertise elsewhere and link back to photobox for the fullfilment. Photobox handle printing and e-commerce, so the 10% isn't bad. Not sure what the VAT implications are. You can only take money out once a month and there has to be more than £50.

I'd post my photobox gallery address but I don't think taht's allowed, although on the event entrants woudl want to buy the photos.

If your looking for a unique photo of your house send me an email and I can forward my website details.

You could try using the professional gallery on photobox (http://www.photobox.co.uk/gallery/index.html) I am not sure how much they charge/pay out though. I have a friend that uses them and he seems to be doing quite well.

Also, I am looking to get some new prints for my house so once you do get a site up and running let me have the link and I'll take a look ;)

    Cheers

I decided to put something back into my sport and now ski most weekend, getting paid to teach the sport you love is a winner for me. Dry slope almost the real thing.
  • I'm on the saros group with yahoo and have been to some focus groups (quite close to London, so this obviously helps!! :) )

    Any questions, just ask!

Wish that pinecone were recruiting, have heard they're really good...

Great thread guys, some interesting ideas :D

One other site that is worth a look is http://www.indiefield.co.uk/

I've had a couple through already, and they're pretty good. Focus groups definitely are better paid than surveys, if there's one in your area!

As our debts are paid off, now looking to get our mortgage paid off (is it mad to think about getting the mortgage paid off before we've even exchanged  ;):p )

I went to a Saros focus group the other day, £40 for a couple of hours. Only thing is, you're only allowed to do them at least 6 months apart. Do you know if there is a way round this (ie. do Saros really check?). I mean it hardly makes a difference to your opinions I think.
  • This site has an article called '101 Ways to make money online (part time or full time, and working at home)' some ideas are better than others and some are 'ethically questionable' but it's an amusing read. (My personal favourites are #69 and #101 :)
