Over the last few years I've taken a lot of digital photos, and quite a selection is of high quality. I'm considering putting some of these onto a stock photo site so can make a bit of money that way. But the sites that I've looked at all pay in dollars through PayPal, which isn't that great because of the exchange rate and the cost of converting it back to pounds. Does anyone know of any British run sites, or sites that will pay in pounds?

Ive done Saros before 50 quid for an hour and a half talking about washing powder adverts. Theyve set up a yahoo group now I found on my email, but TBH i cant be doing with adding myself into it as I have far too many emails on my yahoo from freecycle as it is! Is anyone on the yahoo group for it here?

Im with pinecone research and yougov as well, but not getting much payout from these at the moment

I'm on the saros group with yahoo and have been to some focus groups (quite close to London, so this obviously helps!! :) )

    Any questions, just ask!

Wish that pinecone were recruiting, have heard they're really good...

Great thread guys, some interesting ideas :D

One other site that is worth a look is http://www.indiefield.co.uk/

I've had a couple through already, and they're pretty good. Focus groups definitely are better paid than surveys, if there's one in your area!

As our debts are paid off, now looking to get our mortgage paid off (is it mad to think about getting the mortgage paid off before we've even exchanged  ;):p )

  • I do parties for Ann Summers. This is flexible and fits in around my job and the kids. 3-4 nights each month can earn up to £400
  • Cheers Emma. Quick Question, how easy is it to drum up business? Do you find it hard to make bookings?

Anyone know if it's worth attempting to give tuition in computer languages ? I'm thinking of C++, Fortran , Pascal and others. Don't want to advertise if it isn't the sort of thang that people consider worthwhile.

I would recommend maybe producing some e-books on the topics as well as looking into tutoring. You can pop your ebooks on ebay and clickbank.com. This will help you gauge the demand for such training.

    Good Luck x

You could try using the professional gallery on photobox (http://www.photobox.co.uk/gallery/index.html) I am not sure how much they charge/pay out though. I have a friend that uses them and he seems to be doing quite well.

Also, I am looking to get some new prints for my house so once you do get a site up and running let me have the link and I'll take a look ;)

    Cheers

    Hi Misslopex

Just to say thanks for the website address, I've enjoyed photography all my life and have been told that I'm just as good if not better than a lot of local photographers, most of my old colleagues wanted to buy a lot of the photo's I did whilst I was in NZ so I'm going to see if I'll sell some on the website you've suggested.

Do you mind me asking who do you go through for Book keeping or is it self generated?

Sorry for taking so long in replying been very busy :-)

This work I got from a previous work colleague. I emailed round all friends and previous contacts offering services which I knew I could do such as book keeping, typing and organising events. Haven't got any work organising events yet but I'm kept busy with the book keeping and typing from home.

  • Just curious but Typing from home? Sounds silly question but what do you do for this and how did you get involved?

I transcribe interviews. I type up what people say so it's a bit like a question and answer session. I just emailed some friends, made up a poster offering my services and sent round the universities.
