Back from 19.8 miles bike ride :D Lovely out there today, if a bit breezy. I bought a pair of cheap flip flops to replace a broken pair, and a cheap dress from a charity shop which fits beautifully but I might have to see about getting the hemline raised a bit :p Also tried on a shirt dress in Debenhams which I really liked, but didn't buy because they have an "up to 25% off everything" day tomorrow (and free choccie for cardholders) so I took a chance it will still be there *nervous*

Suggs good to hear from you with what you've been up to, I was wondering where you were yesterday. Thank you very much for the early birthday wishes! I know what you mean about the calories/exercise not immediately converting, and obviously there are lots of other factors at work too - but I think in time we get used to our own body patterns/quirks and come to know what to expect, and the past week has definitely seemed unusual for me.... hopefully back on track now though! p.s. Why is the girl the one doing all the work in your kissing graphic, while the fella just stands there :rotfl:

Hi Erlqueen, must be a while since you've posted but welcome back! :D

Well done Mark on your 1lb loss! Glad to hear things are back on track.

    Hey all

Right then - it's a 0.25lb loss here. Only microscopic changes in fat, water & muscle and this is probably the closest I've ever come to a maintain!

The problem is, I ought to be able to maintain by sitting on my backside doing nothing every day and chomping through 1500 calories! When in fact I was exercising 6 out of 7 days and eating only 1200! *inserts swear words*

OK strop over, deep breath, and on the bright side at least it wasn't a gain as it HAD been up almost 4lb during the week :p I am sticking to the same plan this week - 1200 with exercise, and hopefully will prove to myself that this week was just an anomaly  *cross fingers*

    I still have 1.25lb to lose ([strike]by Wednesday[/strike])

Off to read the new posts since last night now :D

Missy, I've just spied this amongst the thousands of posts I have yet to catch up on  I'm wondering if this is your body's way of suggesting that your natural maintain weight is slightly higher than your current weight? As you say yourself, you shouldn't have to work that hard to maintain. Just a thought - I know you're fed up of people in the real world telling you to put on weight, and I'm not following suit; you are perfectly capable of deciding which path you want to go down with this one x
Efrieze, I see from your sig you've set a target, well done! How's the running going?

Right, off to read up some more...

I have set a target although i seem to be aiming more for maintaining at present as I am up 8lbs from my minimum (this time). Running going well, thanks. Another 5km last night. Every little helps...Thanks for asking.

(13 1/2 st) since the birth of my son (he's now 18 months)!
I am aiming for a minimum weight loss of 5lb a month, which will get me to my target weight by my son's third birthday, so in for the long haul!
Hi LemonDrop, from the info you wrote in this post, am I right in thinking you want to lose 90lbs or 6st 6, which would take you down to 7st1? Or have I missed something?

suggs and 10past - yes, use tinned chickpeas, I do for the cake recipe - I've cooked mine that is with apricots and almond essence, not lemond crud/rind. Went down well.
Beanie - I can a high folding stool that lives in my kitchen so I can sit down to cook when I need to (or while waiting for something to boil), ditto ironing.
Victory - a million thanks for the pm: haven't tried it out yet though.
erlqueen - welcome back. Anic and mark welldone on your losses:j . I'm glad you've reached what you wanted in time for your birthday missy - you can eat those goodies now:D .
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Hey Suggs good luck getting under 16st.

You may have spotted that just a few pounds under that is my main milestone getting under 100Kg (I'm a metric sort of guy) - and that is at 15St10.

After that its a bit of a slog down to 14st4 or under 200lbs - that may be a long long haul for me

Thanks Mark, but I never did plan nor intend to be this close. I have come to realise that after 29 years playing front row in rugby, my days as a prop are numbered!! Now I must not surcumb to the temptation of 99.9Kg :)

Good luck to yourself Mark I am sure a man like yourself will manage it :)

Bails, I think my natural maintain weight is a fair bit higher than my current weight, probably about 1.5 stone higher :rotfl: I was 9.5 stone or thereabouts for 15+ years, never had to watch my weight, didn't even own my own scales for at least a decade :D

Haven't had any comments about being 'too thin' for ages, I think people are getting used to the new me now :D I've had some nice compliments lately in fact.

Congratulations on the kittens - how many cats do you have at the moment in total?

Victory congrats on another fantastic STS! I may have to do the 19.8 miles again tomorrow if the dress I want isn't available in my closer Debenhams ('only' 10 miles ;))

Oooh Suggs a hockey icon! He looks like Braydon Coburn did after taking a shot in the face Sunday night. I love it! :D (The graphic, not what happened to BC) And I love the kissing one too of course!

Right - 80 cals free for a snack right now... a delicious Fab lolly (79 cals) or a healthy multigrain bar (71)?

Phew, well done everyone, finally caught up and there are some cracking losses coming in (and yes, I'm counting yours in that Raph, I think peeps are right about your pattern for losing).
Bet that bike ride was lovely Missy! And I see from the other posts that you have worked out your mysterious week so well done! Perfect timing.
The kittens have kept me busy today, the ginger tom is fine but the two girls (at least I think they are) seem to be struggling a little with feeding at the mo. I'd like to make it out for a walk later but may have an MSEr coming over to kitten-coo x

Ooh, posting at same time Missy! I think that goes a long way to explaining. As for cats, we now have 6 in the house and another 2 pop-ins, rest have been caughtbut these two are going to be difficult. Needs doing though in case the female is pregnant, or we'll have to catch her kittens too! I'd go for the Fab lolly ;)
