Thanks girls, took myself off to bed with my 'Slummy Mummy' book at 9.30pm, I'm not much of a reader really as I never normally have time but I bought some secondhand last week and thought I could use them when I'm having moments like last night.
Got thru' it and feeling really pleased with myself. It's the first time in ages that I haven't reached for food when the ex has wound me up or upset me - see when I smoked I would just reach for a cigarette but since I gave it up I have always turned to food.

    Thanks again!

    go you bright idea!

I've had a terrible weekend food wise. I think I've been doing that 'let out of school' thing where I just went crazy. Day one today though! I'm making the qouron lamb grill and butterbean stew off the recipe thread for tea and i've got chickpeas and pasta for lunch. Finally got around to watching the wartime supersizers from last week too - what a hoot. Some WW2 re-enactor friends were terribly scathing but I thoroughly enjoyed it. They did the restoration period on sat so have got that on the iplayer ready to watch. Am definitely beginning to fancy giles coren too. Which is slightly odd as OH has to go for a long lie down after watching anything with his sister, Victoria, in it. She presented 'balderdash and piffle', plays championship level poker and writes for a few newspapers. I think she's pretty cool too!

    Hey all
Weigh in today, and I was surprised to lose 0.6 lbs! I've been naughty all week so was expecting a gain.
Yesterday I was ravenous and ended up scoffing a packet of crisps, a snickers and some takeaway spicy spuds, all on top of my pasta lunch.:o
I've just cycled to the supermarket & stocked up on salad and fruit, so back to the diet today.

I'm feeling all out of sorts this morn. Have watched my weight fluctuate every day between 1 and 2lb gain. What is the point of denial when it does no good. Have really upped my walking and I know I still haven't reached my 10k a day target but some days I have done 15k so surely that should help even things out. This is a huge improvement on my previous state when I probably didn't hit 10k in a week. I gave in on Sat and had a bar of choc as I couldn't see why not. I am veggie and have been eating salads and soup, spag bol made with quorn, curry made with lentils and spinach. Tonight I shall finish off the bean stew from yesterday and I have my weekly 2hr yoga class. I don't want to have to starve, have never counted calories or joined a club, is there no other way?

Weighing yourself every day is not a good idea as many peoples weight naturally fluctuates daily (I know mine does)
Stick to weekly weigh ins, this way if you do fluctuate up you are not aware and therefore do not get down about it. If you have only a little to lose try weighing every fortnight.
Good luck and keep going - all the exercise will show eventually sometimes it takes a while to register especially if you have just started a new and more intense regime.

Got dd off school today for staff training so heading out on a shopping trip with her, might buy myself some new earrings as a treat for being good last night.
