i,m at a loss as to why people felt the need to email the buyer here
its a minor ebay dispute over a small amount of money and a relativly minor mistake
given a full refund and keeping the goods was offered(in the end) i dont see what the issue was from that point
Sadly it's something we've seen more of, people ask a question and others seem to want to dig and pry to see if they can find issue with the OP. They then stoke it up to try and get into an argument. You see it more on the Ebay boards, but I've noticed a few on here recently.0 -
The ebay part of MSE isn't very pink and fluffy.
I mean, really, not very pink and fluffy at all. Other parts of MSE can be abrasive, but this part is seriously non-pink and non-fluffy.
I know that I wouldn't dare ask a question on here. I suppose if you know that anything posted runs the risk of you getting seriously flamed, crispy bbq style and you are willing to run the risk, that's fair enough. It's an open forum and people are entitled to their opinion. It just has to be understood that some parts of MSE have a different 'voice' than others.
Actually, lots of people on here are really helpful and kind, but I think if I had a problem I still wouldn't risk it, just scan old threads and see what came up.Always another chapter0 -
paypal wont wanna no... youve offerd the refund so i cant see the problem really ,, like you said it was an honest mistake ,,so just say you,ll refund her plus say an extra £2 for postage if she dont accept that then tell her to RUN AND JUMP LOL I WOULD ... your account wont get suspended anyways you might get a little warning thats it ,,, in my opinion youve done your best to please ,,:beer:miss-piggin wrote: »Hi I am having a few problems witht his buyer, I sold an item number 120242291619, but made a mistake with the description, the title and photo were correct but the description stated 2 dresses when there was only one, the buyer received the dress and complained to whch point I have offered a refund if she returns the dress to me, or I said I would send her back half of the money and she could keep the one dress, I sent a mutual cancellation to get my fees back, now she is saying she wants to return the dress to me and for me to pay a full refund + the cost of her returning the dress. she has refused the mutual so I can't get my fees back and has left this message:
Dear Miss Piggin I am also trying to be fair and I do not wish to appear insensitive but as your description was false, and this issue has only arisen because of your mistake then I feel that I am perfectly within my right to expect that I am not out of pocket by one single penny and that not only does my money get refunded but also you incur the charges for the return of your item. After all you can claim your listing charges back or get a free relisting of the item when maybe this time it will reach a higher amount for you - in this way you will not lose anything at all but I have no such recompense. If we cannot come to an satisfactory agreement then I shall have no alternative but to file a dispute with Ebay and hopefully they will be able to resolve it. Regards SamandRuth
I think I have been fair with what I offered after I made a genuine mistake, she paid by cheque but I don't now what to do next, I don't want to have my account suspended, but feel she has been unfair with refusing the mutual so I have lost my fees, and advise would be very much appreciated.0 -
Blimey! It's all kicked off here since this morning! Suppose I've missed the bloomin' popcorn too then...?
I'm sorry if anybody sees it that I was trying to start an argument. I think that the people on here are very genergous with their time to help others out (I've been helped out many times and I'm very grateful for it). And they're getting their time wasted here. It just doesn't ring true. Think about it. Take somebody to court for £6.70?? It started out as somebody asking for advice. The advice she got was not what she wanted to hear, people said she was unreasonable, and I think that upset the lady. So in an effort to make herself more reasonable, she may have fabricated certain aspects of the situation. That is my opinion. And no, I didn't go looking for people on eBay to tell tales, who ever did that has waaaay too much time on their hands, and are you any good at ironing coz I've got a mountain of it here if you're still bored!
Any way....salted for me too please.0 -

also wrote the feedback extorting email I've quoted
"Now your the one at fault in faulsly describing the item so any loss you fall upon you and not me this is your FINAL CHANCE to resove this issue by giving me a FULL refund including the return postage if I get an offer of a full frfund within 24 hours I shal have no alternative but to file a dispute with ebay and LEAVE NEG' FEEDBACK witch i dont like doing so the ball is now in your court"
OH MY GOD - Bookman is right
There is no way on earth that the same person wrote both messages. The first communication is well written with good English and the second is just a jumble of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. Very fishy indeed.0 -

If you were to look through my post history, and many others you'd find some posts that are in perfect english, exceptionally verbose and grammatical perfection, yet others will be full of typos and a bit light on the full stops and capitals. It simply depends upon what time of the day I post, how i'm feeling and what has happened that day, so I find it perfectly conceivable that both messages could ahve come from the same source, let's also not forget that by the time the second one was sent the buyer was probably getting pretty angry about the matter.Bought, not Brought0 -
Here's what you do.
Refund her what she has paid.
Tell her to keep the dress.
Paypal/Ebay will close the dispute then and your customer will have less to complain about.
Otherwise, you are just going to be stressed and your customer is going to get more irate.
Do it now!0 -

as I have to send her a cheque if I send her a refund, can I prove this to get ebay to close the dispute?miss-piggin :j Mum of 2 wonderful girls and a gorgeous little man.DFW Halifax£2330 Tesco£2576 Virgin£3238 Little£5468 Asda£242 Barc£240 Catalogue£1600 Halifax1£2k Halifax2£250 [STRIKE]Capital£100 Picture£53k GE Mo £30k. Ebay can't do anything for her as she paid by cheque and not Paypal. The most you will get is a neg (and possibly a guilty conscience).
Just refund and let her keep the dress so you can both move on.0
