On that one you will have to go down the significantly not as described route, or if they didnot send it recorded in any way then chargeback.
    Loving the dtd thread. x

Yes, that's what I told her or I offered a 50% refund if she wanted to keep the one dress, but now she's getting nasty just had this message from her:

Now your the one at fault in faulsly describing the item so any loss you fall upon you and not me this is your FINAL CHANCE to resove this issue by giving me a FULL refund including the return postage if I get an offer of a full frfund within 24 hours I shal have no alternative but to file a dispute with ebay and LEAVE NEG' FEEDBACK witch i dont like doing so the ball is now in your court

Report them for feedback extortion, ebay are taking it quite seriously now, and it is clear that this buyer is making threats despite your attempts to resolve.

Yes, you made an error but the title and picture both indicated one dress, and you did offer a partial refund in an attempt to fix the mistake. Nobody is perfect, but any buyer that comes across all aggressive and shouty is not doing themselves any favour.

Thanks for all you advice, I have now offered a full refund and told her to keep the dress.

Well done......good to see you have resolved the issue with the same judgment I would have came to. Its all part of the game keeping the customers happy, you never know they might see you as a trustworthy seller and buy from you again and others will also read any feedback given to remedy a problem.

Congratulations. I think you made the right decision. The buyer can't argue with the outcome and you should have learned a valuable lesson.

    Glad it's now sorted.

I would have asked for the dress back, then refunded the lot in my opinion, then resold the dress to try and make something back, rather than let her have the lot after the feedback extortion, seems like she wanted a full refund from the start, otherwise why wouldn't she have accepted a half refund and keep the dress? But ah well, thats just me.

  • I think if a seller makes a mistake they are responsible for ensuring that the buyer is not out of pocket. If I buy a t-shirt on ebay and a pair of trousers comes through the post, I think it's reasonable for me to request that my Postage + packaging costs are reimbursed when I send the item back.
    :D
  • I can't believe it- I told her to keep the dress and offered her a refund, gave her the option of cheque or paypal for refund and now she has filed a item significantly not as described dispute. I am sending her her money back and have lost my fees as she refused the mutual what more does she want.

Just let her follow the paypal dispute route then, that way she only gets a refund when you get your dress back.

Some people are impossible to please.

i would ask her if she realises that by starting a paypal dispute she will have to pay to return the item by a trackable method
