  • Just switched online as I am already a customer and after some serious adding up, dividing and multiplication :o decided that an annual 7% rise in price was worth it for switching and having a fixed price for the next few years  ... well prices aren't going to go down in a hurry...

Lets just hope my maths was right!!! Went for the online no standing charge option... seemed to be a significant saving for me (nearly £100) over the standing charge option ;)

Thanks for letting us know about this deal...

    hello everyone, newbie here.
I am currently with SP for electricity (Economy 7) on a Pricefall package which means the price is protected till 31 OCt. I've been reading the forum with great interests and wonder if I should switch to the Fixed Price 2011 now. Any advice?
  • i called back up and complained and I'm getting moved over to fixed gas now too

You'll have to do some sums i'm afraid ;) ... see cardew's earlier posts for the maths involved... I was on the pricefall package (dual fuel standing charge) and as I stated in my earlier post... I worked out changing would mean a 7% rise in costs, but if fuel price rise predictions are anything to go by I think we may see prices rising considerably more than that after the summer  ... but there again I am no expert... :o

thanks, I did a rough calculation and i ended up paying about 18+% if I switch now....not sure if I want to switch now which would mean I pay more for the next few months till end of Oct.
