You are welcome. It shouldn't be any hassle,I changed from E- on to Atlantic and it was quite straightforward. And of course, way back i must have changed from British Gas to E-on in the first place!!
Never used Scottish Power before,so it remains to be seen how good they are.Like any company you hear good and bad reports but the best part about this fixed price offer is that you are not tied in so if it doesn't work out,or prices get cheaper again(some hope!!) you can move again.0 -
Unless you are a very low user there normally is little difference.
A low summer user(or at any time) will be better off with no standing tariff.
You need to know your consumption in kWh to work it out exactly.
Then you simply take the daily standing charge x 365 and add it to your consumption in kWh x the price per kWH.
You compare that with:
A. The number of Tier1 units(kWh) x kWh price(for tier 1
Plus
B. The number of tier 2 kWhs you will use x the kWh price.
My annual usage is:
Gas 4359kwh - £142 and Elec 2755kwh - £290 - Total £432 a year (prices according to ukpower.co.uk)
Can someone work it out for me please as i'm struggling with the 2 tier things.
These are the prices with standing charge in my area excluding VAT:
Elec: 16.92p daily service charge, 10.365p all/day kwh
Gas: 15.78p dsc, 2.462p all/day kwh
These are the NSC prices in my area excluding VAT:
Electricity: (1st 225hkwh used each quarter) 17.227p, 10.365p all/day remaining kwh
Gas: (1st 1143kwh used per each quarter) 3.721p, 2.462p all/day remaining kwh
Thanks in advance0 -
Thanks for this posting!
Switched from SP to E-On just a couple of months ago and their fix wasn't great compared to the tariff I was on. About 15% increase and only until Oct 2009.
Just phoned SP and asked for 2011 fix and got
Gas
first 1143 KWh per quarter @ 0.04118p
rest @ 0.02751p
Electric
first 225 KWh per quarter @ 0.16057p
rest @ 0.09476
Hope EON don't get too upset as I've only been with them a couple of months or so and got £60 cashback. T&C says rolling 28 day contract with Eon so should be ok.
About a 6% increase for me. That'll do nicely0 -
Anyone manged to sign up today (Friday)?

I'm an exsisting customer and tried to change to fixed price until 2011 over the phone. They said they couldn't do it as it finished last week, but If I signed into my account online I could change it from there.
The girl from pricing told me to do it and said it's strange it was still being offered online as they stopped doing it last Friday.
Hope this helps someone before it dissappears.0 -
I have a USwitch application in the pipeline (yesterday) to Eon. Can I cancel this if I find a better deal, or is this asking for trouble and more confusion later.0
