Hi
Think ive made my mind up on the
Echostar T101
Seems to be a bargain.
As i live in area not covered by Freeview??
And Argos donot accept returns, not covered by 16 day returns policy.
Think I will buy from Woolworths, but cant find in local store or on website.
Will they accept back if it wont work?
Or where else can i get it from that accepts returns.

I think I have found the cheapest Freeview Box in the UK, it's the Digifusion FRT 100 Box The box is very small and comes with RC and 2 Scart sockets, RF IN/OUT and RS232 Socket.
Its only available from C & R Electronics, Hi Fi Superstore, Harold Park Romford Essex 01708 376050.
Sorry, the price an incredible £29.99
Happy Xmas

I see the Boots Technosonic Freeview box which was on offer of the week is on offer of the week for this week as well!! Mum and Dad got one and very impressed with the tiny size of the box, easy setup/operation and quite fast to change channels. Comes with 2 Scart connectors as well, very good value for £39 and much better than the old ITV digital boxes (apart from you don't get a card slot but no great loss maybe!).
I am looking for a box for my father aged 82, which is good value for money, but the most important thing is that it must be easy to use.
Do you think that the Boots Technosonic Freeview box would be suitable?

I was going to buy the Humax PVR -8000t 80gb model at £139.99 from QED, but they have put the price up in the last two days to £159.99. So now thinking of the 40GB model instead from Currys at £137 less Greasypalm cashback.0

on 3.11.04 alibradley wroteQuote:the cheapest way to get digital tv (for free!!) ..if you already have a sky digibox n dish and have had yr contract for 12months+ just cancel your membership! you get to keep you digibox which still receives a digital signal so you get a great digital picture and the freeview channels.. thats what ive done. for some strange reason i dont get ITV2 but get all the others including the brand new ITV3 for absolutely no monthly or one off fee!!
further to the above; we have cancelled sky and can now get hundreds of obscure free channels however we can't get a couple that we'd like and could get if we bought another freeview box. we want ITV2 and history channel and TMF. can we do this with our sky box or do we have to buy another box? ???No reliance should be placed on the above.0 -
ITV2,TMF and uKTV history are all part of the Sky Family Pack at the moment.
There is quite a good chance however that ITV2 will go FreeToAir later this year when ITV's contract with Sky comes up for renewal.
The 5 terrestrial channels, all BBC Channels, Sky News,CNN and ITV3 are avaiable here though and chartshow.tv , the vault and B4 are all TMF rivals.
NOTE THE INFORMATION ABOVE RELATES TO FREE SATELLITE AND NOT FREEVIEWAlex Jones0 -
Its a pity that the only box with a top-up option is the Thomson DTI2300. Thats about 80 quid.
I know how to wait....!*************************
