Does make me laugh when some of their friends look horrified that they have to help clear the dinner table and load the dishwasher, still they seem to keep coming back - wonder if I should get the loo brush and bleach out and hand that over and see if we still get so many visitors! I take away telly, pooter and playstatike ion too, and have been known to refuse to pay out for school trips and stuff! Oh I really am an ogre! My ds doesn't eat breakfast, but he tends to eat before bed instead - he doesn't seem like he's wasting away, he now happily pats me on the head - I was yelling at him the other day and he offered to get me a stool so I didn't hurt my neck looking up at him!
Ruth, you just reminded me.. my dd doesn't go to bed without supper, I need to go and trawl for dirty dishes, mugs etc!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
Trying not to waste food!:j

Hiya :hello:
Hugs to Smoky and to anyone else who is feeling low or unwell.
I'm not on strike today but my school was closed as quite a few of the other teachers are in the NUT (I'm in the other one). I did go in this morning and had a good old sort out in my classroom and I haven't stopped sneezing because of the dust! I wouldn't mind but I've had terrible hayfever since Monday and I've felt dreadful because of that too.
We're creating a sensory room within our setting and had good fun setting up/playing with the equipment. We're going to introduce the children to it tomorrow and we're hoping for a much calmer day than usual. :rotfl:
DH is on strike and DD1 is also off but the timing couldn't have been better as his cousin is visiting from Amercia, so DH has taken them all off for a day out. DD2 is at school today and she has her official Brownie enrolment tonight which I've been invited to.
Not much OS here due to our visitors but I did make a yummy banana cake yesterday and it's spag bol for tea.
Have a good day!0 -
Afternoon all
Well didn't expect to be on here this afternoon am usually at work but got a call from daughter-in-law who is having problems with her pregnancy and had to go to the hospital unexpectedly for tests so I was on puppy walking duty and managed to wangle the afternoon off. Well dog has been fed and walked and I left him fast asleep.
Think I will do some ironing as that will save me a job tomorrow.
Chicken and stir fried rice and veg for tea.
Have a good rest of the day everyone0 -
MummySaver - fantastic will have to remember that one as I'm sure a time will come suitable!! I've even packed bags for DS1 when he's said he's going to run away!!
I often tell him that however much he thinks he hates me know all that hate will be replaced with thanks and love in 20 or so years time!Banana LoversBuy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning0 -
Chrisca50 - hope DIL's pregnancy is okNot heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.

Afternoon Everyone
((((hugs)))) to all poorlies and anyone who needs one xxxx
Pooky – can relate to this, OH’s DD comes to us nearly every weekend and she is such a ‘kevin’ one min loving and the next snarling – one of the worst things I find is that she brings hardly any clothes for the weekend and then turns her nose up at mine! I do love her though, but running through my head is been there done this, had the t-shirt but it wore out
Mioliere – loved the story about DS2
Mummysaver - know where you are coming from re the bribing with meals, mine were always allowed ‘x’ amount of friends over for sleepover, I would cook breakfast but that was it, they had to clear up and do dishes….1 kid asked where the dishwasher was, DD looked at him and said ITS YOU…. That’s me girl lol
Stefejb - meaning to say this for a while, me dad is a Brentford supporter, i worked in Brentford for while, was living in Feltham at the time....small world lol
Have been down town again as forgot washing tablets yesterday, tea for me is anything I can find from freezer to do for 1 as OH is not coming home tonight.
Very excited as OH rang me this morning (he was out last night) and has said since this is probably our last weekend together for a while (will have to do w/e in my new job) we are going away. He’s taking me down to Sussex for the weekend so I can see family and friends. Not seen any since January and I get to visit DD who is pregnant with my first grandchild. WoooooooHoooooooo.
It’s just me and him, not taking DSD as not her weekend, hope I don’t sound selfish when I say I’m glad about that. Oh's boss has said he can have Monday off even though its short notice so thats a bonus too. We are hoping to leave about 5 on Sat morning not sure yet to tell my parents or just suprise them for breakfast!~Am a bit like a headless chicken at the moment, running around and not really getting anything done!
Hopeing to see a good friend of mine too, we were in business together a few years back and not seen her for a while.
Have had to book two nights in different places……..MSE head says we can’t afford this but happy head says yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Am hoping to get a good look at the sea while I am down there as need my sea fix!
We are doing an OS/MSE journey, taking sarnies made with HM bread and gammon that is cooking in the SC as I type and flasks of coffee, anything to not spend at the overpriced services (will also take coffee etc with us so can make up flasks for journey home) This is the first time we have done the journey in this car, so not sure how the fuel will work out. It wouldl be great to stay with family/friends but none live near to each other and none really have space so just have to grin and bear the CC bill.
xxxxxwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Lyndseyann and Metherer thanks for your concern, and yes, so do I. She is only 26 weeks and our first granddaughter was born early because she was losing her waters, and the same thing seems to be happening this time, only earlier. Fingers, eyes and toes crossed.0

Hi All!
Sorry about putting Weds, I had been up since 4.30!!:rotfl:
Had a lovely lunch with my Dad and his friends. Liver and Bacon, my favourite. DS is at work, so no more food for me now:T
We were lucky at the Tutankhamun, we got 10 - 10.30 tickets. Hardly anyone there. We came out at 11.30, and the hoards of school kids were ust coming in! So my advice is, go early, or late if you are going.
Lovely and Sunny in Hastings now, after the early morning sea mist and rain. Going out on my deck to enjoy the sun with a cuppa!:TI Believe in saving money!!!:T
