Morning, I didn't pop in on Tues or Wed as we had an early start working on our DD patio, 7am. We layed 2 tons of scalpings and used one of those road vibrator machines to pack it down. Mixed 3 tons of cement to lay the slabs on and repointed them, and put half a ton of stones around the edges, it looks brilliant. Today we are putting up a shed behind the garage and erecting a fence. Tomorrow I plan to paint the render on the garage and place all the pots on the patio. Total transformation, it is a suprise for our S in Law to be, he has been away this week and knows nothing about it.
I managed to make a spag bol for dinner when I got home at 6.30 last night, and have enough for dins tonight. WM on and bread done for sarnies for lunch. Will have to spend the weekend catching up on my os as the freezer is hungry, the iron pile is 3ft high and the dust is just as thick.
Hugs to Smokie,Penpin and others in need.0 -
Thank goodness it's Thursday! I saw the title of the thread then and thought for a minute that it was Wednesday and I should have been in work by now. I think I have another yukky virus as all the glands in my neck (or nodes or whatever) are swollen and I feel horrible.
I think I'll just stick to the ironing and some gentle tidying up today, with lots of hot drinks in between.
(((Hugs))) to anyone feeling miserable or poorly,

Hi everyone
Cant believe its Thursday already - i have 2 children off today but my middle one has to go into school she is not impressed as you can imagine.
DH is away on a meeting but he came in this morning with a card and pressie as its our 15th wedding anniversary today and i had only bought him a card. First time he has really made an effort in years - i was really choked up that he had actually gone out of his way for me.
Off shopping tonight so will buy something from the shop to eat for tea - dont wanna slave over a hot stove tonight!!!
Hugs to anyone who wants or needs one.

Morning all
Been feeling a bit "blugh" of late so not bothered posting but OS life has been carrying on.
DD1 is driving me scatty - she's not an official teenager until November but my god she's well practiced at it.......I'm trying to be calm and unemotional about it but it's failing me at every turn. She's not doing anything major but as she's always been so good and kind and considerate, it's really hitting hard that she's a moody little mareI get to do it all again in a couple of years too :j
DH hardly seems to be home at the moment - off up and down the country for work - throws the meal plans right out!
Need to do some baking today as we're out of everything, fresh pasta for tea with gammon and cauli and cheese sauce. Loving my new pasta machine, was a very good investment. Need to get some more yog started too and use up some left over pastry from last nights dinner - cheesy gammon parcels for the freezer I think.
Off to a party on Saturday night - why is it you spend most weekends wishing you had somewhere to go but the moment you get invited out you really can't be bothered? I'm sure I'll be ok when I get there.
WM just finished so need to go load the TD, really thick sea fog here so nothing's going to dry outside and it's not cold enough to have the heating on....hey ho - not as if I use it everyday.
Hope you're all well - if I've missed anything major then sorry...I'll catch up eventually."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Morning all.
First up, thanks for the kind comments last night. Hope I didn't drag anyone down with me? Feeling a lot brighter today.:j
I'm staying home today to look after DH. Luckily my manager was fine about it, and I think I'll take it as a days holiday rather than unpaid leave.
Neither of us got much sleep last night. I had no room to stretch out, and he was rolling about all night. In case anyone is eating I'll put the next bit in small print and grey text. Skip it if you want. He had a huge accident in bed (He has a colostomy bag), so there is loads of washing on. He's had a shower to clean up, and then it happened all over again!   Not good.
He didn't eat anything other than breakfast yesterday, and then started antibiotics last night, so I think the advertised side effects are definately with us.
It was a lovely day here earlier - sun shining, birds singing - and now its rather grey. Its drizzling. Hope it clears up again - want to fling open the windows and do some cleaning while I have chance.
Managed to get DH to have some shredded wheat and a fibogel, so hopefully they will help. He's off back to bed I think.
Have a lovely day all, and I've no doubt I'll be in here again later.

Fi, I'd love a brew if the offer is still open? Coffee, blonde, with one leg please. (Ooh, sounds like my DH!!)
Squiggly - we've got a thing for Chicken grilled with pesto on the top. Yum.Not heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.

Morning all.... Congratulations Ronankfan, 15 years is a long time.
Hubby has gone to work, me and LO getting ready for the day. Toddler group this morning then lunch and ballet this afternoon (LO not for me). Might then pop into E.Austin seeing as our local one is closing a week on Sat.... See what bargains are to be had. I got 3 pairs of pink frilly sock for £1.25 other day. Thats all I got tho. I too think I will be doing spag bol for tea.
Hoping evryone has a good day.0 -
Good morning and thank you for the kind thoughts and PMs.
Yesterday was a tough day but my nephew and his wife managed to get through it with lots of love and support. Hopefully now they can begin to deal with this tragedy. I have asked for a copy of one of the photos of the baby so that I can put her photo together with all the other nieces and nephews. She won't be forgotten. I think all the support on this thread must have helped me to get through yesterday so thank you all again.
DS and DD are off school today but I have quite a few things I need to get done so no lazy day here.
(((hugs)))) to those who need/want one. Congratulations to those celebrating - I have read the thread but cannot remember very much at all. Hopefully I will get a good night's sleep soon - I've been averaging 2-3 hours a night since Friday.
Have a good day everyone. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."
