OS Daily Weds 24th April 2008

:hello: Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 24th April. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning All!
Amazed I'm first today! Couldn't sleep, so at 4.30 got up and made tea!:rotfl:
Thanks to everyone for my birthday wishes last week. Had a lovely day. Went to the O2 to see Tutankhamun exhibition, then to Planet Hollywood for lunch.
"Joseph" in the evening courtesy of DD. Wonderful show, Lee Mead was brilliant!:T
Wanted to get his autograph, but there were so many people about, I was worried about getting knocked over, and the old legs wre tired by then.
Went back to work Monday after six weeks off. Tiring, but nice to be back. Kids were pleased to see me! I'm not striking today (I'm not in actually!) but those who are, go for it!
Lunch with my Daddy later. He's just got back from a break in Scotland with friends. He looked really tired last night. !3 hours on a coach takes it out of anyone, let alone when you're 75!
(((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) to all who need them
Have a good day All!

Morning Hilstep and all who follow.
Well, I was up early too and have sunk a few cuppas. Too early to see what the weather is up to; I hope it turns out as lovely as yesterday's. It was great not to have the heating on although it turned cooler later in the evening.
(((Hugs))) to Smoky and the LOs.
Martyn - good to see you posting yesterday; hope you have a good day today.
CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:
I hope all the poorly ones are feeling better now.
Well, I am collecting DGD from school this afternoon but not DGS because his is on strike - he doesn't mind, though; his mum is a geography teacher at a college and she is taking him on a conservation field trip to Marwell Zoo. He'll really enjoy that. We have to swap children over at 4.15 because DGD has gymnastics so DIL will leave him with me and take her and then come back later and take them both home. It's great because I get some 'girly' time and some 'boy' time.
Dinner tonight is Spaghetti Bolognaise simply because I can't think of anything else. I'm sure we have mince twice a week now but it's so easy to make a meal from, isn't it?
Oh well, I'd better get DH up for work.
See you later.

Morning hilstep, mioliere and all to follow.
Another poor sleeper here...I was up at 4.30am too. I have tidied up a bit though and made a head start with the preparation for school but I'm beginning to feel tired again, just as everyone else will be getting up.
It's wet and windy here today so the washing will have to dry inside. I need to sort out some paperwork for work at some stage so wet and windy will suit me fine. Apart from that, I'd like to do some baking and maybe a bit of cooking for the freezer. Tuna and pasta bake for tea, with a separate no tuna and pasta bake for the little one who won't touch tinned tuna because it makes him think of cat food.
Right... off to pour another coffee before I go and waken them up.
Have a good day,

Morning everyone,
It`s lovely and sunny here today (hope i`ve not jinxed it now)
not too warm yet but it`s getting there.
Sneaked a peek at my first attempt at hm yogurt this morning and it`s gorgeous! very pleased with the results, i microwaved long life milk yesteray afternoon and added some plain greek yogurt to the food flask, put the lid on and around 14 hours later i have a big tub of the stuff, i`ll be making it a lot more often now.:D
Dinner tonight was supposed to be meatballs but DH enjoyed the casserole so much last night that he requested the rest tonight so i never got the meatballs out of the freezer last night or put the rest of the casserole in either. Makes it a nice easy meal tonight as it just needs reheating.
I`d best go and do some w**k now.
((((HUGS)))) for Smoky and anyone else who needs one today.
Have a lovely Thursday everyone!
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Should not this be Thursday 24th?
Either that or I have gained a day somewhere and that would mean that I am not day off tomorrow and not going fishing?
Loads to do today, Daughter to the Docs at 1630 and then a school meeting after that, so no early finish today.
Maybe a bottle of wine tonight though....

got one of those stupid personal development appraisals at work today. our line manager has not contacted us since she took over last year...when we email her, someone else replies? so true to form someone who has never done my job or worked with me is coming to do the appraisal. great eh?
apart from that, picked a carpet yesterday. fitter is coming to measure up this morning and hopefully it will fitted next week.
OH is doing shopping later, so not sure what we will be eating.x x x0 -
What kept you all this morning, been here waiting since 05.30,
since I am still a new girl on the block I thought I would be too new to open the coffee shop.....
Breakfast of Ice Cream has already consumed......;)
Mr Tesco brought the shopping yesterday :j
I suppose I had better cook some food today...........:o
I kidnapped a man yesterday..... :T:T:T a Very Handy Man. He arrived to a neighbor's flat and Mr Tesco arrived about the same time. The very Handy Man told Mr Tesco that if he helped with the groceries upstairs, he would not need to move the Tesco van.....:A:A:A
"Who are you?" I asked, not being one bit behind the door...
"I do maintenance for the flats!" said he carrying the frozen shopping upstairs...:j
"Oh, can you fix my door?" in my humble opinion if you don't ask......:rotfl::rotfl:
"Where is it" said VHM
"In the next room.....the dinning room", which is actually described as a second bedroom. VHM goes looks at door.......
"Where does the door go?" VHM asks studying the same door
"OH, the next door down again" said I, up to my oxters in Tesco shopping.
SO, VHM, fixed door, told me he would come back to replace a missing bracket that is SOMEWHERE VERY SAFE in my flat
Today, I am the happiest girl in the world......thinking up things for the VHM to fix in my flat.Today, my BEST is good enough.0 -

Woke up to find hubby's pillowcase covered in blood, his head wound had opened up, so the beddings in the wash. I cleaned the wound & covered it again & took him to the station, as he refused to stay home. His nephew wrote his car off yesterday & wrote off the Volvo he hit, no one was hurt, so thats good.
Off to work soon, just hope Katy gets dressed soon, she having a slow start today, she was on the phone for 4 hours last night.
Hugs to those in need.
Have a good day.

Morning all
Looks like it's quite nice out, the heating is off and the French door is open.
Off to work in a bit, need to drop DS off at my neighbours as OH is on nights and won't be back until 8. Taking DS to see some friends later. Cats are going mad here, must be the sunshine!
Thank goodness it's payday. Need to sit down and look at a budget. Need to get a grip of my money. Looking forward to the outcome of the bank test case today as my claim can then proceed.
Hugs to all who want one today.
Have a good day all.

Morning OSers / Insomniacs United...
Hilstep, glad you had a good birthday & enjoyed your day too - sounds good. Did you have to do battle with loads of school parties at Tutenkhamen?? I know a friend of mine went a few weeks ago & said she got really fed up in the end ... but the exhibition was great.
Hester - sounds like everyone is in the wars your end, glad nothing serious though.
(((((((smokey, anniebl, martyn, penpin))))) and others who would like/need.
TNG -:kisses2: even though I'm the other woman (one of many I gather...!! :rotfl: :grouphug: )
Day off today supposedly as time to study/start essay writing, but got letters to type for the office first, as I ran out of time last night (went to a research lecture at uni instead!!)
Must think about dinner - bought some chicken breasts in sainsbury's last night, just don't know what to do with them yet....
