    Hi

    Did you have fun?

    L x

Watching Yeovil this season can't be regarded as fun, I'm afraid. However, myself and YTFC have been going out together for 37 years so I guess we'll be together forever.:j

There was a bit of aggro near the end when some Leeds fans near us started gloating and bigging themselves up so just moved away from it.

Nice pic by the way!! :smileyhea

    Hi Guys.... I'm BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

I was a regular here until about 2/3 months ago. I needed a break to sort the rest of my life out. Which I have managed to do.

SOA still looking good :D , work ok ;) , Personaly life = terrible :o

    So my question is:

Does anyone have any idea's on where and how to met new people?

I don't know if I am alone, but I am nearly 26 ( not sure when that happened!) and single (again ) and I really find it hard to met new people, be they friends or potential OH's.

Suggestions would be great. I've been told by my Mother to join the gym... I am not into exercise and can't really afford it.

    Thanks in advance!! :D

Have you thought of joining a social/activity group. There is an excellent one called SPICE (it isnt a dating agency or anything saucy) where you can meet new people in a safe environment and take part in various activities as you choose (if you did everything you would be skint). http://www.spiceuk.com You never know you might meet a potential OH (it does happen as I know several people who have met and married via Spice - yet Spice will insist it is not a dating agency but it is inevitable when like-minded people get together that some will pair off). I should know it happened to me - that's where I met my OH (although we are not members anymore but that's because we do different things and have new interests).

SPICE have groups around the country.

    aww thank you :o

I've only ever seen Exeter play... and I'm not sure that's really football. My ex was a fan and dragged me along.

I could never get over the amount of bad language the kids knew

Know the feeling, Lucy! I went through a period of trying dating websites and the like to meet people, but only had a few responses. Of those, one was a primary school teacher whose profile seemed great, but when i started MSNing him, his 3rd sentence was, "Would you like to have sex with me?" It put me off, and was sorely tempted to contact his Headteacher after he told me that he viewed parents nights as a good way to pick up women as they generally like the 'young, male, teacher thing'.

My other response was from a man who had spent time in prison. Funnily enough, he didn't ring my bell either. So, it turned out to be a waste of money, and thoroughly disheartening.
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

I think that is why I don't really want to try that.

But I had a very busy weekend which has made me feel better. And I have decided when I am invited out to make the effort to go even if I dont really feel like it as I will probably have a good time.

Sounds like you had a interesting time!!

  • Hi Lucy

It may sound daft, but how about places like Facebook? Doesn't cost anything, and if you join a network you can meet all sorts of people on there. I've done that, and now have great chats with people that live in the local area. Not just potential boyfriend material - but new friends as well. Just a thought.

If you join a dating website - what do have in common with everyone on there well basically only that you are single and would rather not be... plus the demographc will be slanted towards the 'would like to meet someone... to sh&g' group and a lot of people similar to yourself are put off by the idea...

If you do something where you might meet people with similar people well you might not meet someone but at least you haven't wasted your time because doing something of interest but the people you meet are more likely to have similar interests, education, socio-economic group etc... probably why people meet partners through friends, work or hobbies
