  • Ive got a carrier bag full of runner beans in my freezer from my uncle who grows them but doesnt like them.
My F-I-L gave me 3 tomatoes yesterday.
DD2 planted a broad bean in a pot at school and we planted it in the garden and got 4 pods off it! (But we dont like broad beans so I used them when I was making stock)

Im not doing as well as everyone else. I must look too well fed for people to give me food. Another reason to go on a diet...... :rotfl:

I got two chickens for free this week :) (dead ones) I got one last week, still in date, but when i went to open it to cook for sunday dinner it was so smelly... went and told the butcher, in a very discreet and non confrontational manner, and they gave me TWO fresh chickens:)
and got given 2 jars of pickle, onions and cabbage.
Also salad out of my garden does that count? Rocket, lettuce, basil and coriander, and bayleaves, and a few tomatoes. And eggs from the hens.

(Apart from stuff you yourself have grown, or foraged for, ie, brambles?)
Am I lacking the right technique?
