OS daily thread Tuesday 22nd April

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 22nd April. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning everybody :hello:

Jeepers, I've managed to start the daily two days in a row.
I hope everyone is well this morning ((((((hugs)))))) smoky, Martn, Annie, Pen Pin and anyone else in need.

I have a reasonably busy day today, so I'm hoping it goes ok and that I don't have too many problems.
I will probably end up spending my evening pottering round with seedlings!

Managed to remember to make lunches last night again, must go look in the cupboard and see what I have to feed the hoarde later tonight..

See you all later.

Good morning Arkonite_babe and all who follow.

SMOKY - sending (((hugs))) to you and the LOs.

(((Hugs))) to PENPIN, MARTYN, ANNIEB's family and all who need them.

    CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:

Well, I kept dozing off last night so in the end I gave in and had an early night, not that I feel that refreshed now. I still feel half asleep!

I need to get the sheets changed and upstairs and downstairs dusted and hoovered, then pop out to post some letters and then try and finish my office work. We have home-cooked fish and chips for dinner and I think I'll make DH a rice pudding for afters.

I have no idea what the weather is going to be like but it's not raining at the moment. After a bad start to yesterday it turned into quite a nice day in the end.

Well, I'd better go and get the breakfast organised. See you all later.

    Morning,

I did think about starting this an hour ago but thought it was a bit early...didn't know what to do either!

We're off to Lancaster today on a day out....Mainly going to get feed for our hens who have been acting up like teenagers and demolishing vast quantities of corn. It's good having the eggs and our girls really enjoy looking after them.

I was brave last night and refused to buy the normal wholemeal sliced loaf at £1.38 - instead going for a lovely seeded batch that was a bit cheaper (on special offer) but better for them....OH said they'd never eat it....teenager huffed, puffed and raided the freezer for Tesco Value pitta but the girls enjoyed the bread......it's surprising how much their tastes change.

The way food prices are going up they'll have to.

I've got an exam in 4 weeks time so I did get up to study while the house was quiet but the computer turned itself on somehow....strange that.....I'll be doing all the chores next to avoid the study books.....

Right, hugs to those who'd like them...I'm off to grapple with "Accounting for non-current assets" before the sun rises and chaos ensues.

    Have a great day...

Morning. Cool and overcast here in Cornwall. They say it will brighten up, Hope so. Work all day, but I have a trip to Exeter later to go to a meeting, that will break things up a bit.
Took my son out for a driving lesson yesterday and he is getting on quite well for a newbie.
Apart from that it's a bit boring around here.
    cheers

    Morning all,

I decided not to continue on with my bean bag. I'll get a bigger zip tomorrow. I made XDIL her tissue box holder though. :D Did the usual chores, ironed etc. Made a loaf of bread and some granola. I also made a passionfruit dessert. I hope we like it as by the looks of it we'll be eating it for a week. I should have halved the recipe. Just having a cuppa before I go out and water the veggies.

MrsMix  Hope the news will be promising.

DGS at the dr's atm. I txt XDIL after lunch to see how his chest was. Still chesty so got him an appt this arv. :D I then txt her to tell her she'll be going on an outing this arv. :D Well he's had this chesty cough for 2 weeks and it hasn't got much better. One has to be pushy iykwim. :p Giving him cough medicine all the time wasn't doing the trick.

Hope you all have a lovely day. <hugs> to those poorly. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Hugs to those in need, especially Smokey, PenPin and AnnieB.

Haven't managed to catch up on the thread, will try and do so later. House looks like a tip, post and washing everywhere. Off to work in a mo. DW and WM are on. OH can sort them out when they've finished.

Need to take little cat to the vet either today or tomorrow, as he's hurt his tail, think big cat might have bit him on the base of it and it's obviously very painful. He even stayed in last night and slept on our bed.

OH has booked a table in a Thai resturant to say thanks to DSS and his GF for house sitting. Is it me or has food really gone up in the last 2 weeks since I was away?

Catch up with you later. Have a good day all.

    Morning everyone

It`s cool again this morning but not cold, it looks like it will be nice later on - hope so as i`ve put the wm on before i left for w**k this morning so i`d like to be able to hang it outside when i get home.

Productive morning so far, i emptied the dw and the slow cooker and carved up the lovely pork hock which has been cooking overnight, it smelt gorgeous, i put some sage and a chopped onion in with the gravy and an oxo with some lentils to thicken so tonight we will be having pork, stuffing, jacket potatoes and the lovely gravy with cabbage.
The bm finished before i left too so there`s a lovely fresh french loaf cooling on the work surface.

If i`m up to it i`ll have an hour in the garden later as i really need to be sorting things out, all my days off lately have been on nasty weather days so i can`t seem to get anything done out there.

Smoky - it`s good to see you posting. The little ones will feel your love for them and although you seem a bit less positive at the moment things will change. Special ((((HUGS)))) for you and the children, chin up girl!

Hopefully i`ll have chance to go catch up with yestedays thread now.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Morning all
Off to work here as soon as Katy get's dressed.
The training yesterday was brilliant & the speaker was very funny, well so I've been told, I missed all of it as I had so much work to do, nothing unusual there then. One staff member didn't turn up at all but 14 children did, obviously they didn't know it was an inset day!
    Have a good day
    Hugs to those in need
