Morning!
Managed to get a double bed yesterday for next to nothing (in really good nick) so have hoovered it and sprayed it. Now ready to make up as my sister and BIL coming this weekend - how lovely to be able to entertain them in my own home :T .
Was talking to the man who delivered the bed about the area and he told me that his brother is the leader of the council - needless to say I said nowt about my recent dealings with them!!Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -

KarinaBusy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:0 -
Hope you are keeping well. Great news about the bed.
How are things with your son now?

A seems fine at the moment. He is keeping a diary about his day which he has shown me most nights this week, and it makes me so sad to see how he has been treated by the boys at school. But, for now, I am just keeping an eye on him and if I feel it is developing into anything more then I will be off to see the Head pronto!.
A asked me if he can go to the gym this pm as its within walking distance, so he has an induction together with F. Its good to see them wanting to be out and about doing something. Where we used to live (before the council accom ) had no garden and was out of town and away from school, so they were rather isolated. Here, whilst they are not near their current school, they can at least go swimming or to the gym.Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
Hello mot - now back. em'd you yesterday.
#Shall do one final public nag on this: don't forget to use those wretched vouchers before they expire.
Mostly want to say how lovely it was and oddly 'meant' that we DID meet up 2 Sundays back.
It felt very special, very lucky to be with you in such a way on that day.
It was just wonderful to feel you 'at home' and see how perfectly this house embraces ,and shapes itself around you all. Bless anonymous LL - his goodness triumphs in equal and inverse measure over all that Evil LL committed. It will indeed be your haven in every sense through the months and years ahead. Your perfect outdoor space reinforces this sense of comfort, peace, enabling enclosure and safety. Pair of blackbirds, Monsieur and Madame Merle, already graciously accept you into their territory, ditto coal tits and thrush.
(Feeders aside for next visit)
They all approve your arrival - how about rat meets cat/Jack Russell? A consideration?
Dinner was beautifully done(I love rhubarb); meeting D at last was such a bonus too(ditto doggies!); and the sense of settled times to come was tangible.
(Have you found the salt yet? - remember to cast some over your left shoulder when standing on your threshold).
Do not worry about A. Rule 1: All strops remain 100% property of the stropper at all times - easy to say, I know, but be impersonal about things that have to be done. They are simply tasks and everyone has them, loathes them, shares them.
Strops die for want of a stroppee - you know all of this. Your upset over them, engagement with them and the inner questioning they engender, drags you and your battered resources into a needless downward spiral.
Do remember that YOU are the parent - all the strife and difficulties you've come through to this point do NOT require misplaced compensation over house/home life rules and boundaries, lovingly set, confidently adhered to.
They are as comforting as those solid, secure bondaries surrounding your garden, Julia. Testing of them by any adolescent is normal. Finding them solid, stable, consistent, is another of your lasting gifts to F & A.
You know this is not some grim r#!#gime I write about - it is actually the gateway to real Freedom, yours and theirs.
With Bankruptcy to come, another path still requires negotiation.
I will not feed you pap over this, Julia - you neither need nor merit that. You are an intelligent friend(hope I may say so; it's not a term I use loosely), innately attractive, compassionate and strong, who will grow through this to a renewed sense of new self. Your daughter and your son will see this, absorb what they live daily, know your word goes.
I have not a single doubt that being in this particular house starts the real healing process for you. The twins won't have seen Maman like this for years and what they saw with childhood eyes will differ and further modify as they reach adulthood themselves. You are creating templates your grandchildren will, in part, be moulded by.
For A - that school is nearly done with. Yup, it's a boy thing; it's a man thing; it's a protector thing; it's a half-fearful, half-wannabe 'How much of my Dad is in me?' thing; it's a more-of-same-for-years-yet-thing; Deed Poll name change to Kevin is the ultimate sanction..........
I'll see you all on 11 May - Francis Bacon? The great de-clutter?
Tell twins that my mugging of Mr T for Computers For Schools vouchers is doing rather well. Last night, my usual 'be as generous as you like. I'm happily entirely shameless on behalf of the twins between whom these have to be divided' brought a whole pristine book handed over with a wink and 'Ooh, I wonder who gave you those - it wasn't me. Tee hee hee."
A nice lady.
Julia - there is absolutely nothing you need fear from the ways your mind, spirit and body are now easing up, coming off one sort of duty, so to speak. They've all been on 24-hour watch, taking the relentless 360 degree circle of blows for so long, that you'll take a while to simply enjoy relief without guilt - especially when you(and we)are aware of others on this forum i.e. bm, Miss cat, mrslady, mentioned earlier.
It's time to stand down. CAP are with you for the next big hurdle.
You will help no-one on the forum, now or in the future, feeling guilt by contrast - better for everyone to see just how things can change!
You find some of it unsettling, I know, but there never WAS a timetable, never will be. If you try and impose your own, or think about it too much, you are pointlessly lengthening the time that Nature knows you need.
......to this, add revisiting echoes of THAT bit of Life before you're ready. It's uglier if I call it scab-picking, mot - but just as true. As every maman has said at some point in every childhood - 'DON'T PICK, or it won't get better.'
Both you and i-t have so much to value and start experiencing now, as individuals, partners, friends. What a magnificent prospect for the coming years!
Sorry - only popped in to say Hello:o .

Thank you Ampersand, you have given me a lot to think about and I will call you later for an update on your break away xxChristians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0

Ampersand, you do have a lovely way of saying things. This is exactly my theory on strops (although I wouldn't have been able to explain it quite so poetically). And being the mother of a 7 year old with Asperger Syndrome, we witness increasingly dramatic strops on a regular basis, so I'm an expert!
Strops die for want of a stroppee - you know all of this. Your upset over them, engagement with them and the inner questioning they engender, drags you and your battered resources into a needless downward spiral.
MOT, I am glad things are going well, and you are enjoying the security and comfort your new home is bringing you.

What a wonderful hour I have just spent!!
I have been through all my files and shredded tons of stuff from the past - there must have been a rainforest felled by DBC with all the paperwork they sent through :rotfl: However, I have kept everything to do with the eviction and appeal so that if the twins, when they are older, ever want to understand what happened to us they can read through it. I have also copied each page from my threads to download onto cd and hopefully print off - this will all then get stored in the loft - out of sight out mind eh
