Twins father has confirmed today that he and his girlfriend will definately be moving to Dubai and DS reckons it will be by end of October. He has no job to go to but she does. I have been wondering how I stand, if he gets a job out there, with regard to him paying maintenance as it is not England - does anyone know?

It may have changed but unless he works for a UK company, and even then its difficult, the CSA either can't or won't chase him. Their main brief is to save the UK taxpayer money and they can chase by NI number. If someone is abroad, its probably going to be difficult. The best bet would be to get an agreement from him before he goes, because at least morally he is responsible for his own children.

The last sentence you wrote gill is what worries me!

Had a phone call from Parcelnet yesterday inviting me for interview on Thursday morning, so this may tide me over too. Hope it works out financially

  • Kept missing your posts, hope you really get the job and way to go on the hols..not that i am jealous or owt after my washout in Cornwall (sounds like a medical procedure rather than a holiday!!) I am pretty certain as it as uk company your ex works for that you can get an attachment to earnings, but i am not sure if you may need to go to court for that. If he is a history of missed payments etc then it is more likely that they will grant one.

    Morning Jillie,

Nope not found anything yet:confused: didn't for the Parcelnet one as my mind was getting all screwed up at the thought of a mountain of parcels in the house - never have been one for untidiness and it was starting to freak me out! Guess, I really do need to go for an office job. Have applied for part time school receptionist but the closing date isn't until 19th Sept so just have to wait and see if I get an interview for that - fingers crossed! It would be perfect as it is afternoons until 4.30pm so the twins would only be on their own for an hour, there would be a few days that I had to work in the holidays then I would be off all through with the twins which is what I need, so to cover a few days with a friend is fine. I have applied for the same post with another 2 schools in neighbouring towns too.

Twins father is moving to Dubai next month with his girlfriend so DS is unsettled yet again, DD seems to cope better with these things, but poor old Adam needs lots of love and understanding - my heart really goes to both of them with what they have been through and are still going through but in a different way. Ex hubby hasn't got a job out there but girlfriend has, he will have a visa for 30 or 60 days and if he hasn't got a job within that time frame will have to come home for a while and go out again. He has promised that he will pay maintenance once he gets a job - so thats some good news.
He has said that the twins can go out and see him with girlfriend's parents or sister and family.

Twins have settled in really well at new school and look so grown up now in their new uniform. The other day Adam looked in the mirror and said 'I look like a grown man now!' - where have my babies gone?? :o;) In fact I actually said to A when he was off to school the other morning ' have a nice day at work' talk about wishing your life away :rotfl: .

They both stayed at friends last night which I was quite pleased about as I have come down with this nasty throat and chest infection that seems to be going round, so I just lay on the settee all evening watching tv, I couldn't have moved in I had to as I felt so bad. Went off to bed at 10pm slugged some Night Nurse and had a lovely sleep until 7.30am, feeling a bit better today but will still take it easy as haven't got much energy.

BOB, good to hear from you! How are doing? Must upload that photo for you and post it on your thread - you'll love it ;) :rotfl: :rotfl:
