Oh Mot :( try to keep positive. I'm guessing you're not going to be able to have a quiet chat with him to find out whats going on.

No Molly, unfortunately he is a very 'closed' person and this is one of the reasons we split up. He can talk about work till the cows come home but get him to talk about anything else, especially emotions, is like getting blood out out of a stone!

Spoke to my sister and her hubby last night who both work in the same industry and they say that as he had such a good position within the company that he will have had a very good pay off - we worked it out that he should be all right financially for at least 12 months which would also include paying us the maintenance. He has a company car which we think will have to go back at the end of the month, so he will have buy himself another car and that will be the giveaway I guess.

I'm guessing he feels absolutely devastated and that it is his pride that has stopped him from telling me.

    Hi MOT

Sorry to hear about the added worry in your life. Your life is certainly eventful isn't it?!

I know it's hard, but try not to worry until you know more. Although I realise that the not knowing is probably the hardest thing.

    Big hugs to you :grouphug:

Hi MOT, I started reading your very first thread way back (in September I think) until the appeal failed, then I moved house. I just wanted to find out if you are OK. I'm glad that you now have a house to live in and I hope that now you are BR you are able to put the last year behind you and have a much better year from now on. Good luck MOT:T

Had conversation with my ex recently and he said that he will be stopping the maintenance completely in October as that is when his notice period finishes:eek:

So I have applied for IS to start in November and am now furiously hunting for a job which will mean that I can be at home in school holidays with the twins. A friend has put me in touch with the NHS bank support staff so fingers crossed I may get something through them. I'm still scouring the school placements websites too.

    Aaargh!!!!!

I bet you are fuming right now as you know he will get a good payout form his redundancy. I read your other thread and think its ridiculous that with the amount he is expected to recieve he is not going to have to give any of it for the upkeep of his own kids

    Hi BMS,

I know its dreadful isn't it?!! I mean he could get a job to tide him over until something more suitable comes along and in the meantime still pay maintenance. Instead I have to claim IS which I feel is totally unnecessary  .

I have worked out that I will be £220 a month worse off which is unthinkable as we only just manage now, God knows how we will survive on that much less.

I went to see the psychiatrist the other day (before I knew that ex was stopping the money) and said to him that I would like to return to work. He was pleased as he feels that will help me no end. Now its a case of I must get a job rather I would like to get one!

I have applied for 6 jobs in the last week (5 with the NHS) all have long closing dates, so perhaps you'd all keep your fingers crossed that I at least get an interview!
