Hi friends!
Thanks for the kind words about me :T . Yes I do love MOT very much and nothing is too much trouble. Me and DIY are not best friends; I have five thumbs on each hand when it comes to drilling, sawing, putting things together etc. My talents are mostly creative. Loved mowing MOT's lawn and helping to plant some trailing lobelia, even if it did take two hours! Did a big shop at Costco and MOT cooked a fabulous Sunday dinner with choccy pud and custard. :j Had a thoroughly enjoyable week, came home at 9pm, read two pages of the Sunday paper, looked at two emails and then fell into bed and zonked out. Woke with an aching back and a stonking headache at 3am! Hey, I wonder if that rat outside MOT's kitchen door is a relative of ex LL?
MOT's DS is a great kid and I'm sure he will get through his problems. Name calling can be very hurtful. When I was a wee sprog I had to wear a metal splint for a couple of years and was called 'Peg Leg' and 'Cripple'. My Dad told me to laugh at them and say "Yeah, great isn't it? I'm thinking of getting the other leg done as well." I tried it and it worked. Rather took the sting out of their attempts to hurt me.
Saturday's sunny weather was fabulous; can't wait for BBQ weather.0 -
Hello everyone!
Had a lovely weekend, it was the first time I had felt 'normal' since before my marraige went wrong. By that I mean that it was a lovely, calm domesticated weekend - me ironing, I-T mowing lawns, both of us planting loads of lobelia to hang over the edge of the sleepers that partion the lawn from the patio, shopping and cooking. I hadn't realised just how much I had missed normal everyday family life, I can't begin to tell you just how good it felt
.
Today, I have spent the morning doing marketing as a volunteer for Worldshapers which attached to the church who have helped me so much through this bad time. Then home and to pick twins up from school and off to sort out Visitor Parking Permits so that any visitors don't get parking tickets from the rottweiler of a traffic warden we have round here, and got the discount cards for the twins and my activities from DBC - F was quite worried about having to go into the council offices, she thought they would all rear back in horror when they saw me coming!!
Now the twins are out and about on their bikes in the sunshine - oh, how wonderful that this kind man offered us his home :T Thank you Mr X xxChristians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
Meant to say that I also went to second hand furniture shop today (where I got the suite) to see if they have a double bed and the guy said he will have one tomorrow which is in really good nick and will ring me tomrrow pm. Whilst I was there I saw a fabulous painting in the window - it is of a mediterranean/north african seaside village and is in the most amazing colours - I asked him how much it would be thinking it would be about £30 and that I couldn't afford it, he said it was £5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I bought it! It is immaculate and was originally from John Lewis and its massive!!!!!!!!!Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0
