Hi guys,
(((((pp))))) and all others who need one.
I have to say that I am struggling at the moment to do anything other than the basics around the house. I feel completely drained and unable to get motivated at all. I am trying but I just can't be bothered iyswim. It all seems so pointless really. I am keeping the kids clean and tidy and fed and going through the motions with them but that's about all I can manage.
I hope these feelings pass soon as they are not how I am but it's like being in deep hole full of tears and emotions and I have little control over them at the moment.
My family are being great and supportive - my sis and bil took the kids out for the afternoon on Saturday and they were potato painting and dog walking. The eldest was off to scouts for an afternoon in the woods doing some orienteering. Sunday was a pj day and despite my intentions of sorting out the kids bedrooms - I couldn't be bothered in the end - little was done.
Today I am meant to be sorting out a grant of probabte form which the solicitor will need (when I have it - after an interwiew????) to proceed to carry on with the money owing to Eric but I can't face it.
Anyway I hope you all have a good day.

Hi everybody
Just thought I would pop in and say Hi to you all. I discoverd old Style a couple of years ago (and recognise a couple of names on this very thread  you know who you are), but haven't been around for a while. Now Mrs T is being made redundant I think I need to revisit and refresh my OldStyleness
The fact that someone has a Jessica Rabbit avvy in no way attracted me to this thread
Hope everyone's well and ((((those that need them))))

((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))) smokybabe. It's a time thing i'm afraid. You have to give yourself time to grieve and just do what/as much you feel comfortable with. Brilliant that the family are helping. Please make sure you are looking after yourself too, you know eating properly, getting plenty of rest etc.
Take care xx

Hi Smoky,
thanks for popping in and giving us an update on how you are. Please don't get yourself stressed out about 'doing more than the basics'. Quite frankly there are more important things - like you and your LO's having some time to grieve and do what you need to do.
And TBH I don't do nearly as much as I should and I am not in your situation - I'm a pick and chose OS'er i.e. I like baking the cakes, can't be bothered with the washing the nets and stuff!
so join my pick and chose club smoky :T
xxxr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -

Hi Smoky - Tattycath is right; it's a time thing. You are not expected to be 'OK' so soon; you're looking after the children properly and that's enough to concentrate on. If you can't face doing some things, it's fine to leave them until you can. I'm worried that you are being too hard on yourself, Smoky. Your sad loss is SO recent and you have done really well. You must also think of yourself which means getting plenty of rest when you can and only tackling things when you feel up to it. It's such a shame that we can't all take it in turns to come and help you. It's great that your SIS and BIL are being so supportive; that's as important for you as it is for the children. Take any and every offer of help you get.
Much love to you and the LOs.
