Morning all! One child off to school, one to go! Still feeling very stiff and sore so no housework today. Will get the breakfast dishes done and get cracking on tea. Off to browse the recipe thread for some ideas on what to do with mince.
Going to go through my recipes today and try and sort them out.
Hope you all have a good day!!0 -
morning everyone.
PP, sometimes when I'm bored or fed up, I read your posts and then kick myself about how lucky I am to have my health. How you manage as well as you do is an inspiration. I really hope that things improve for you soon, you deserve it.:A
I've started the day by putting on another one of the french bread s made with a chef starter. It's a type of sourdough starter. My OH still can't quite believe that you can make bread like this at home. I'm going to put a beef stew in the slow cooker soon to go with the crusty bread, and I really should do some ironing soon:rolleyes: .
Have started a food swap thing with my neighbour. Yesterday i gave her a catering size tin of late coffee mix (yuk) as my hubbie buys them at work. she gave me a bottle of homemade wine. We often swap things this way, or pass slices of homemade cakes over the wall. She's quite an inspiration for some of my old style cookery as she's elderly and very old fashioned, and will pass on old hints for cooking and household things.
Any way off to do a bit. have a good everyone0 -
Morning all
The electricity is off here, so as I rely on an electric shower in the morning I've had to make do with a lick from a facecloth and cold water...brrr!! I really want to wash my hair and while I could grin and bear it in cold water I don't relish going to work with wet hair. Oh and call me a misery guts if you wish but with the price of heating oil I rarely heat the water so that's why I didn't have a bath.
Penny-Pincher, sorry to hear you are still having a rough time. Maybe it's time to call the doc now anyway, I think you are justified.
I've already had a builder here this morning to look at various problems with my house (it's a new build) - he was early! Local kids have been pulling off planks from a communal fence and I complained to him about that too so he's going to get that fixed.
Looks like I am going to be early at work today, normally I am five minutes late. Gotta go, ta ra!

morning everyone and hugs to those who need it!
made 2 loaves in BM yesterday so one for today and sliced and frozen other one for toast. have locksmiths here today putting new locks on front and back doors. my DS3 is autistic and is an amazing escape artist and the locks on the doors are not secure enough to keep him from escaping (and my worst nightmare.....running up the road and ending up under a car), he has no sense of danger so if he was to get out he would just run and run. this has been having an effect on my sleep for ages, bad dreams about it happening so i will be soooo glad when it finally gets sorted out today :j :j :j
bit of housework today, quick swish and swipe in the bathroom....etc. i have one wash in machine and another to go in....but nice day here so should get all dry on line (hopefully  )
have managed to sort money so that am now back to dealing in hard cash (best way for me)....so i am eagerly awaiting the start of the new month on 3rd oct
might make a quiche today and use up some of my eggs...chickens laying 3 a day!!!! FOREVER SKINT i gave some to one of my neighbours and she made me a homemade apple pie in return!!!!! i love the food swapping that seems to go one when you have elderly neighbours...well it does in my road lol

Morning, I hope you have all had breakfast.
My day will consist of first thing, thinning out the chickens. It's a bit like thinning out carrotts in the veggie patch but you use an axe in stead of a hoe!
I will then get ready for work and have a 12 hour shift to do before I get to come home at midnight. A full day I think.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Hiya everyone
Well, DS1 was being as good as gold this morning - he was really naughty last night and sent to bed at 6.30 with no tv for the rest of the week. I told him that when he woke this morning, he was not allowed in to us, but must read a book in his room. All going OK at 6am until I remembered had to take his bulb out last night as he kept switching his light on. So I was up at 6 putting it back in
So, DW is on, DS1 off to school and DS2 and myself about to go for a shower.
This afternoon I have a mystery shopping job to do so that will pay petrol and parking in townNeed lots of fruit and veggies too, so will go to market. Might go to Toysrus this morning if I can get through on the phone to see if they have the bikes in I want. The £20 off offer ends on Sunday but I need to get them when DS1 isn't with me (DS2 won't care
) I can store them in mum's shed until then.
Need to whip round downstairs with the vac and give bathroom and loo a going over. Other than that, I'm sure there's some more washing to do and Mr TM has 2 pairs of trousers that need shortening.
OK, off to do 'stuff'. Will perhaps get some chicken out of the freezer for tea - not sure how I'm doing it yet, but inspiration may strike at any time

morning all and (((hugs))) to those that need them.
Am very tired in work this morning, but it's my own fault for not going to bed on time last night I suppose...ah well.
Am going to the hairdresser on site here in 40minutes and I'm trying to decide if I just want a trim, or if I want something a little more drastic (generally I think, ooh drastic... and then am a coward when I walk in the salon door). She's very very cheap anyway (£8) and generally does a nice job so I'm sure I'll be happy either way
Not so much O/S round here today as I'm at work, but I'll be baking when I get home tonight - I've nothing "nice" to eat in the house and I fancy muffinsI've all the ingredients in and it only takes about ten minutes from getting the bowl out to washing all the dishes again so I've no excuse really.
I hope everyone has a good day (and that you've all got better weather than us... I get the feeling that this week I may turn into a fish!)Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...0 -
Washing is on line - dishes are in washer and tea towels are steeping in hot water.
Daughters love the fruit cake made in BM so may have to make more.
Hope to make home made pizza for tonight. Still have some leaves on the basil plant and mozzarella (half price at Lidl) in the fridge.
Have to be at dentist for 10.25 as large filling has dropped out -oh fun!
See you all later and Hug to all who are feeling under the weather."This site is addictive!"
