  • Dropped kids off at school this morning and then went into town. Bought the Big Issue magazine as there are competitions in there. Went in Tescos and bought 3 cheese and onion pasties for 50p which we will have for tea tonight. It's my daughters 11th birthday tomorrow so later on I will be wrapping her presents. Just a normal day today though. Ebay auctions are going quite well. Will phone my boyfriend tonight like usual. He lives 120 miles away so we only see each other at the weekends. Hopefully tomorrow won't be such a normal day

Curry is in slow cooker and 2 wash loads on the line as it is a good drying day.

Everyone enjoying the fruit cake I made last night in the breadmaker.

    Dishes are in dishwasher .

Intended to tackle ironing but DD is a bit sick so is off school today.

Browsing through here as it is next door to where she has a "nest" on the couch with her duvet and watching t.v.

Some things are more important than housework ;)

  • morning all :)

Soup last night was a great success - ended up being Chicken, cauliflower and lentil because that's what I had in the fridge ;)

Made a huge pot of it, fed 3 of my friends who were round and have about the same again left. I love making soup and it's such a cheap way to entertain! (also gets some veggies into my friends, who won't generally eat them...they do some chores for me in return - taking the bin out, changing lightbulbs etc, or give me lifts in return for feeding them so it seems like a very good deal to me :D )

Not so much O/S today as I'm working till four then I've more friends coming round.. I'm looking up christmas cake recipies though as it's my intention to get that made this week and I need to start the fruit soaking!

Getting my eyebrows waxed this afternoon, as there's a salon in work and I want to take of advantage before I leave! I usually use tweezers and do it myself, but she makes a very nice shape and it's easier for me to follow if it's already started (if that makes sense?) she only charges £5 so it seems like a good idea to me (other than walking round work all afternoon with red eyes!).

I hope everyone has a good day today and *hugs* to those who aren't feeling brill.
Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...
  • Hello everyone.

Well, I made myself not switch on PC until I'd done lots of jobs, but couldn't quite wait - need my OS fix :D

Today, I've taken both boys to respective schools then came home and put BM on, un/repacked DW, first load of washing on, tidied kitchen generally, put a pork chop concoction in the slow cooker then I've stripped DS1's bed and have just spent an hour in there sorting toys/clothes etc. He'll never notice what disappears, and if he does - too late :D Have just got to finish dusting and then vac and clean windows and it'll be sparkly and tidy for at least - oh, 3 minutes

Need to strip DS2's bed and I promised him I'd set his big train set up for when he came home, so better give the floor a good vac as it will stay up for a week or so. It's on a board on a table so I can clean, but much easier when it's not there. Also need to sort his cupboard out. It was filled with all his baby toys, ready for a boot sale, but he got in there the other day and we are now falling over walkers, ride on trains and building blocks again

Lunch will be HM soup - can't remember what flavour as it's still defrosting, but it's orangey in colour :D Have some blueberries defrosting slightly too as want a smoothy as well. Then I'm going to vac the stairs and landing then have a bath and hairwash before picking kids up. Isn't it luxury when you can have a hot bath in peace, after years of sharing with kids :)

    Later, folks

Hi yall, Caused a minor power surge this morning clicking on the dishy, washer, BM and slo-cooker (faggots in oxtail gravy).

Dropped kidz at school and hit Tesco where I went a bit mad and spent £39.86. It is a bit more than normal but I've been sooooo good this month I used some of the surplus to buy some stand-bys and they had a few bog-offs that were good. Off to the coast at the weekend so I'm also trying to remember what I've left in the cupboards there. No doubt will end up with two of everything as usual:rolleyes:

Living in the middle of the National Forest I know I am lucky and I take it all for granted but I can't believe how desperate I get being away from the sea even though we're over there every two weeks and I've spent all summer there. It isn't until I'm getting ready to go back that I realise how much I miss it. Maybe I was a merman in a previous life, that or a barnicle:D A long winter is ahead I fear when we will not bobby over there so much.

Well off to strain 2 litres of yoghurt. Does anyone else have to make it in such industrial quantities or is it just my kidz wot are greedy piglets?

  • MATH - my kids love yoghurt, but won't touch the natural that I make. Do you flavour yours? What with and is it smooth? I have a feeling that DS2, who would live on yogs, would eat them if they looked and tasted like Petite Filous.
  • Well, I've ermmm sat here drinking :coffee: and catching up on posts all morning (didn't get up till 10am either :o ) and I've ermmmm ... made more :coffee: ... and ermmmm ... sat here a bit more ... :D

Now will you all stop posting so I can go and get on with the washing up and sorting out tonight's dinner please :p:D :rotfl:

I've not been around much the last week as i'm seriously having to cut down on my MSEing in order to get all my essays done to finish my course by 30th Sept. 2 essays and 3 days left, i'm cutting is seriously fine...

I'm so glad a i found O/S as it means that i have good healthy meals frozen in the freezer that i can just let defrost and serve with potatos/rice/pasta/chapatis/naans ro whatever. When i'm this short on time, before O/S, we'd be down the local takeaway. So this time we're eating better and saving money :money:

My DD is 2 today so i'm feeling all weepy. I know in a lot of countries round the world parents would be celebrating their child even making it to 2 yrs with the high infant mortality rates. Then there's me feeling s little sad, but happy at the same time, that my baby is no longer a baby but a proper little girl - a little madam at that! *sob* *sob*
