Oh MATH, it sounds like you could use one of these ...And yes, it is perfectly normal to feel like that sometimes, us mum's do quite often
If it makes you feel better, take some time out to do something just for YOU and sod the rest of them for a day... the house won't fall down around your ears if you don't clean it, and the family will hardly starve if you don't cook for them for once - give 'em a pot noodle each if it helps
Take care and hope you feel better soon"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

It is that what you do, good or bad,
will come back to you three times as strong!

Hi everyone
Thanks for your hugs and best wishes.
I'm home for lunch right now - this morning was tough. I really didn't want to say anything but from my demeanor my colleagues know something is wrong. When Baba died in March one of my colleagues laughed in my face when I told her what had happened. That was so hurtful so I just want to keep quiet about Henry. I told my manager I had "problems at home" and didn't want to say anything more. A few tears have fallen this lunchtime, I really don't want to go back to work today. I have to face the public this afternoon and evening and it so difficult to deal with them when I feel so raw. It is a very stressful place anyway, and right now this minute I don't want to know, I just need to grieve for my boy.
I know I am not the only one with troubles - Moggins, CQ, Penny-Pincher, Foreverskint, Glad to name but a few. It's hard to face the day sometimes, but you all manage it, good on you girls!
Math - you sound like you need a break. Maybe Mrs Math would give you a day's respite so that you can go to a country park or big museum or something just to get away from the house and revive your spirits? I've been through the unemployment thing too, and while I don't want to imply Mrs Math is a misery to be around, I know that the unemployment issue was right in the middle of every thought and deed with the result that anyone around me felt bad too. Stressful, anxious or unhappy feelings even when surpressed can be contagious (and kids can sometimes catch them too). I prescribe a nice day or afternoon out alone.
CQ well done for making those calls. I hate the phone too - on a bad day I won't answer the stupid thing, never mind pick it up and voluntarily speak to some stranger. Try to take control of the conversations, you are entitled to say what you want and need to say, and you are entitled to be listened to.
Time I went back to work, I hope I find someone to cover my evening shift as I really can't stand the place today.
Cheerio everyone.

Question : DD's tracksuit pants and sweatshirt are leaving fluff all over her legs and arms if she gets the slightest bit sweaty - is there anything I can do to minimise/stop this happening? She had to go for a shower when she got in she was covered in that much fluff!
Anyhow, after I finished here I toddled upstairs to my chest-of-drawers and had a major sort out and declutter. A carrierbag full of rubbish later and I have a spare drawer :j I'm hoping that soon I'll be able to get rid of one of the chest of drawers from the bedroom to give us a bit more space but thats going to take alot more decluttering!
DD wants to have a Lion King marathon so I'm not complaining. I'll set too on the dishes and kitchen while the washing is doing. Then I might even tackle a cupboard / fridgefreezer inventory as I only have £28.04 until 29th for housekeeping if I want to stick to my budget!:eek: Most of that will probably be spent on fresh fruit, milk & bread.
Oh well, off to sort out the washing on the line and clear up the kitchen :rolleyes:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
This is my first message on the daily threads so I hope you all don't mind me joining in - been 'lurking' on mse since last summer when I discovered freebies, vouchers, survey sites etc etc and been reading os for ages - but actually decided over the weekend to join so hello :hello:
So far today I've put the washing up and clean stuff out the dishwasher away done a load of washing and put it out to dry (it's lovely and sunny here) and put yesterdays one away.
We're moving in a couple of weeks and have spent the last week trying to go through all the stuff we've accumulated over the past few years  currently got paper, cardboard, plastic and glass bottles, cans and old clothes to deliver to various recycling places but my car got hit a few weeks ago so it's at the garage at the moment and should be finished today - but they said that last week so not sure and don't feel like risking the shiny brand brand new hire car I've got round our dodgy tip to get rid of the cardboard. Put 4 sacks of total and utter rubbish out last night already done a whole car boot full of paper to the recycling - just a little at a time.
Think this afternoon I'm going to try and get my potential car boot sale bits together - not sure if we've got enough to do one (it'll be our first) yet and pop out and buy some butter as I want to make some flapjacks with some left over dried apricots and some oats.
Also need to clean the bathroom - watched lots of how clean is your house last weekend and went out and bought bicarb of soda, white vinegar and washing crystals to try some old style cleaning.
Well must get on - sorry for such a long first post - look forward to joining in here lotsInitial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000
