I'm so excited! I've just had a phone call from the supply teaching agency that I signed up with last Wednesday - and they may well have a job for me for one whole month. :j :j :j

After having spent the last few months recharging my batteries and then getting really low when my course mates were starting their jobs last week, I'm really thrilled and eager to get out there.

I just hope that if this doesn't come off, then something else will!

    Thanks CQ.

And well done on making those phone calls. I know how you feel sometimes. I get quite nervous when phoning someone that I really need to - even though it's probably something quite simple like phoning BT to say that we're moving house!

    Keep going! You're nearly there.

  • Morning my lovelies.

Haven't posted on the daily thread in ages! im sorry! ive been reading it though. At work today and OH is on his late shift till 8 so the poor thing will be home at 8.30 starving like mad so i am planning on having steak casserole and mash ready for him when he gets in. Gotta go to the shops after work to pick up some large jiffy envelopes to send off some stuff i have sold via live journal, might treat OH to a cream cake while im there for after his tea. Gonna give the house a quick once over, not much needs doing as it was done on sunday morning. Just put things back in their rightful place.

Starting to get exasperated with these mystery shopping things, some kind soul ;) gave me a long list of them but not one single one of them has got back to me. Im quite gutted about that.

Mam and dad have said they will help us out with some of the deposit for our new house if i prove im saving and i know his dad will but its hard to broach something like that. We've had a look at our finances and we can afford the fees and surveys and what not but the money we had towards the deposit got eaten up by the new washer and a new exhaust and what not. I had a midland bank account when i was at school and i continually kept trying to close it and they kept saying yes yes we have, then i would get a statement and more information on my account so it appeared it was never cancelled. Im going to try to ring them tonight to see if i can get OH's name put on it so we could maybe seperate our house savings into this account. Its getting frustrating because all the money is in his bank account so it looks like its only him doing the work, and he hams it up at my parents to make me look bad, i know he doesnt do it to upset me but it does.it makes me look incompetant, or thats just the way it makes me feel. Hopefully when i get paid next thursday im going to try to transfer £250 into this other account and see how short we get, if we get. and im going to soldier on selling things we dont need. Im feeling quite upbeat about it all really.

Gonna list a whole big batch of stuff to sell on ebay/live journal communities tonight to see what money i can make, every penny counts right? I might change my paypal account details to make sure all the money i make from that is transfered into this midland account. Im gonna push the hair extension business and ive branched into doing up do's and make up for big nights out for people. Ive had no joy with amazon, i dont think i have the kinda books people want to read, and the ones i do have that would be desirable, im keeping, solely for the purpose that i want to keep them. I might howk out my cd's. i have over 1500 cd's and theres some terribly dodgy stuff in there i could flog off. aqua and backstreet boys entire catalogue anyone? :rotfl:

My word this has been a long one. i know i can always have a good rant here and everyone else knows how i feel.

Well we are back from our holiday, great time, really relaxing batteries fully charged....

This morning I had a freezer reccy and have worked out meals to the end of the month, just need to get salad, fruit and veg, so should help our post holiday budget a bit.... cooked a chicken yesterday so cold chicken with some french salad we brought back for supper tonight, not sure about dessert but will think of something.

Have a load of washing out done overnight, but need to clear the backlog from before we went away so another load in now, had to use the dryer over the weekend, but again used it on econ 7.

We had notice from Powergen whilst we were away that they are putting the prices up, now they have sorted out our electric, I need to look for a cheaper supplier, they are holding £204 against our gas/leccy bills, so should get some of that back..... will have to do a search for a cheaper supplier on the internet........

Need to put bread in tonight, we are using shop bought bread, always keep a loaf in the freezer for emergencies, thats what we are using.

Lovely letter from Tesco when we got home with £43.00 of vouchers in it, lots of lovely grub for christmas with that, should have enough to do a months grocery shop for free in December.... great.....

Well done CQ, you're doing so well this morning :D

I'm trying to keep my mind off this afternoon by keeping busy. So far the house is hoovered, the beds are made, one load of washing on and the dry stuff folded ready to put away. I've made a cauliflower cheese for lunch and made some pickled beetroot. Cleaned and sliced the leeks and put them into the freezer ready for when I get some bacon bits.

Now on to my second cup of coffee and 6th fag of the day. Roll on when DD2 starts school in 6 days and I can make a concerted effort to quit. I have my Allen Carr book and tapes at the ready :D

DH is getting up at 2 so we can leave at 3 and find a parking space, now what can I do for the next 3 hours :(

Morning Yall, You lot are so inspiring, taking the day by the scruff of the neck and getting on with it, fears and all and here I am in a wretched mood with no real probs to speak of except Mrs MATH looking for a job, but even so we're not going to starve for a least a year.

Does anyone else feel like saying "S0d it! they can make do with pot noodle while I sit and watch re-runs of Trisha all day!) - No - just me then:o
For months now the Dad will sort that, Dad will clean that, Dad will pick up my mess attitude has really started to grate. Nothing is appreciated. Even though I say it myself they are the best fed kidz in the school but the complaining and shoving away of food at meal times would make you think I was serving them any old slop.

Why am I doing an 8hr day of graft?
Should I just kick back and do less?
Would I like myself if I did?
Is 12yrs at home too long to excited about dusting?
    Is this normal?

Good morning all and big hugs and good luck to all those who need them!!!!

DD went off to school today for her first morning session of "big girls school" and I was very surprised to find a card through the door for her this morning from my family saying enjoy your first day at school :D I didn't even know you could buy those cards!!! She's not in tomorrow but I have an appointment with her teacher at 1.45 tomorrow afternoon (earliest I could get!) for an questions I have etc

IL's didn't turn up yesterday - we phoned them and it turns out that FIL decided he would paint the outside of the house (It's pebbledashed so  ) but they didn't even phone to say they weren't coming! We had bits for an early tea, bathed DD and put her to bed by 7pm :j I packed all the food away into the fridge and OH has taken loads with him today for his packed lunch and I've had some this morning while there was still some left! If I left it until tea time I'm not guarenteed of getting anything with my two hungry horrors (aka OH & DD) here :rotfl:

I'm so tired... Friday night I had trouble sleeping, early hours Sunday morning OH woke me up when he had a nightmare that really upset him (first one in 6 years though so I shouldn't complain). Then the early hours this morning DD woke up at 4.30 screaming because she'd "seen someone with a pointy head standing next to the heater" after 30 minutes sitting and singing hymns to her I went back to bed, 10 minutes later she started screaming for me again after a nightmare  The second time I managed to walk into the bed (metal framed so ouch!), the bedroom door, the doorframe on her door and then stumped my toe on her bed so I put her in our bed before I ended up falling down the stairs. When OH came up for his bath at 7am he put her in her bed with the light on to read for a bit so I had at least some privacy to get up and dressed!

Lunch made for OH, DD ready and off to school, beds made and mbed tidy (DD's looks like a bomb has gone off in it! ), one load of washing done and is now on the line, going to put in a dark wash after I've finished here. A cup of coffee (very strong I suspect) and then around 11.45 I should get ready to go and pick up (a hopefully very tired) DD from school. Oh, I need to make her a lunch up. Still need to do dishes (baking tins draining still ATM) but since tea is basically sorted, leftovers from lastnight, I don't have anything else planned :D
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

LOL Math, it seems to funny hearing a man say that :D Yes it frequently is like that in this house, especially when I've spent hours making the house spotless and DD2 trashes it again within 5 minutes. She's one of those that can't be left alone without her screaming for me 2 minutes later. As DH is trying to sleep after night shift I am sort of stuck here for a while as everything I need to do is upstairs in her room :(
