    I never ever go above 16kg + around 6kg for 2 people for 1 week.... this including books and tons of electric chargers hehe, so I wonder what's so hard about a 20kg limit :rolleyes:

    People with 3 change of clothes a day, differetn every day??

    What????? :confused::rotfl:
  • I'm going away for two months and only have a 20KG limit! Eeeeek!
  • Do you have enough clothes to last a whole year in your wardrobe? Probably not! You get through it by also having a washing machine.

    Pack the same for a two month trip as you would for a two week trip, you'll have to do washing anyway, and depending on where you are traveling/staying its very cheap to get a big wash done.

    I know some hardcore traveling types who take a change of clothes and that is it. That is all you *need*. Everything else is a luxury and can be dumped if you get over 20kg.

    A couple of strappy tops for morning walk for a cuppa and 7 tops/t shirts for evening wear (not into clubbing so only something suitable for evenings. One pair of black trousers, one pair of shorts and me trusty crocs for everything (one pair). Books, sunscreen, after sun, small vanity bag with shower/shampoo/toothpaste etc. Binoculars (sport variety) Not much else really.

    Never go over 12kg as I need the space coming back for me ciggies ;)

    I can't imagine what some people must take with them. I go away for 10 days with just hand luggage and still seem to take too many clothes. Always have plenty of space left to bring presents etc back too. Couldn't fill 20kg if I tried!

    Hi Julie_d

    Another girl who prefers friendly chat too!

    I think a lot depends on the type of holiday. I tend to take fairly casual type holidays and although I like to make an effort to look good when going out, can usually manage it (I hope!) with a capsule wardrobe.
    However I know some people like to seriously 'dress up' in the evenings and have a different outfit with matching accessories each evening. Nothing wrong with that! It's part of what you want out of your holiday, as long as you can squeeze it all in your (and your OH's) case. If you're going somewhere fairly 'posh' or out clubbing , dressing up is an important part of the fun of the holiday experience. No need for people to be sarky, just because that's not their particular thing!

    Hairdryer... hotel ones are rarely good enough for a proper blow dry, I really need to find a decent powerful travel hairdryer.

    Books are a particular problem for me. If I'm going on a lazy holiday, I'm going to need half a dozen! Try to put the thickest one in my handbag to read en route. My worst moment came when I finished all my holiday reading on the last day, then got delayed for 12hours at Palma airport. Aaargggh. I felt like a bag lady, pinching discarded newspapers from tables just for something to read. I always leave my books behind though to make space for pressies.
  • I fill 20kg lol I take far too many clothes and shoes and toiletries (forgetting you cn actually buy them abroad)

    I always mix and match my cases too just incase one case goes walkies so we both have clothes.

    I tend to wear the bulkier shoes for going and a pair of jeans so it lessens the weight in the bag. I always take my hairdryer, as I have curly hair and like my diffuser :rotfl:

    20Kg doesnt touch it, I usually have between 30-38kgs of luggage, I usually work on the premise of 3 outfits a day, and 9 times out of ten, by flirting like mad at check-in, I dont usually pay extra.
