Can't you get a laptop with plenty of USB ports, then plug in the phones and cameras to charge from that?0 -

Does anybody know if i can take my hair straighteners as hand baggage?, i can't survive without them!
Yes you can.. as long as they are electrical and not gas..I always have my straighteners in my hand luggage. I could cope with my case going missing and not having change of clothes but frizzy hair would be a nightmare !0 -
Thanks Jacquiesce, this is my problem! i can cope with anything other than losing my GHD's!!!!!0

My list is makeup bag with basically one lipstick, eye shadow, mascara... medication, like anti inflamatories and diocalm and contact lens stuff
The one outfit I go in, to include warm jumper, and very comfy smart-ish trainers. Spare day outfit probably lighter suited to destination. Spare top, pref something for day or night. Spare night outfit and spare shoes to match, this time thinking about sparkly flip flops. Plenty of undies and a swimsuit.
Admittedly, that is only for five days away, but most hotels offer washing, you can "sponge" as my Grandma used to say, small stains... Just make sure that all items go with all other items as far as possible.
If I do pack a hold bag, I always put half my boyfriend's stuff in my case and vice versa so one missing case would matter less.
Have a lovely time, and write your own tips down on the way back for next time! (I'm going to be doing that too. Smile.)
It isn't that hard to find a laundrette0 -
We`re going away next week. It`ll be two suitcases at 20kg - more than enough for two of us. It says in the blurb from Thomsons there is a hairdryer in the apt, but I`ll take a travel one just in case.
In the carry on I always put in two dayime outfits plus sandals then if the cases get lost we could probably manage for the week.
I`m just pleased no one gets dressed up, so my tatty worn creased clothing looks OK0 -
Thank god someone has the clarity to pack a couple of changes of clothes in their hand luggage!
I have done the same ever since an Airtours stewardess (that dates it if ever anything could!) accidentally doused me in Bucks Fizz 30mins into the flight to Vegas. Grrr... Her idea of compensation was free Bucks Fizz for the duration of the flight...Ha! I got a full bottle of Smirnoff with mixers and without any fuss too after I pointed out that I could do that just by sucking my clothes.0 -
Holidays are comming up soon for all of us. I like to have a holiday in the sun. My top items for the case will be swim ware and kaftans to cover.
I also find room for my itsa. It is a sunbed cover/beach bag/towel in one. Look on www.theitsa.com a great bit of beach kit.
I am also a fan of washing clothes on a 2 wk holiday so I take a travel washing line. It has the pegs on the elastic line.
I think like many have said for us girls .I x long trousers, 1 x 3/4 lenth trousers and 2/3 shorts with various tops, a sun dress or 2, a cardi, light jacket.A pashma.
Undies and 1 nightdress.
I bet it all changes when I go to pack the case though!
Just had a look at theitsa and they look like such a great idea! Thanks for the heads up on these. Just need to decide which one to buy now...:jCross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

We do this too! :T
3 of us, so one third of each person's packing in each case (sorted so that it's one third of tops, trousers, swimwear, etc - not all the tops in one, all the trousers in another!)
Assuming one case will go astray we should all still have two thirds of our packing! And if all the cases arrive together its a bonus!:D2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

Just to add to the suggestions on here:-
On your PC write in big letters your names, travel company, booking reference and Hotel address. Now print it and stick it inside your suitcase(s) at the top.
If you take a camera photograph the screen - in the vain hope that if you lose the camera somebody honest will pick it up. I usually put a small reward for return.
Do your home address and stick that in the bottom of your case for the return Journey.
Being an ex-engineer I always pack a few strong cable ties (there isn't much you can't fix with a cable tie) and the usual small screwdriver.
