I'm going on holiday in 2 weeks to my sisters house in USA. I am only taking 1 outfit aside from the clothes I am wearing because I have ordered some clothes from online shops that I sent to her house waiting for me + I always buy clothes while I'm there too so there is no need for me to pack alot as I bring alot back hehe. I do however make sure I have my (and husbands) chargers (phones, camera etc.), meds packed and depending on what kinda holiday 2-3 pairs of shoes :)

I'm going away for two months and only have a 20KG limit! Eeeeek!

I did 2 months on 16kg and that included things like walking boots in the bag.... Just plan on actually washing stuff on that length of trip.

Hi Summer, we too take tea, coffee and sugar but no kettle as one is provided SC. I also take a little washing up liquid and 2 tea towels.
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
    Spring begins on 21st March.

Hi kirsty, I think it depends on what sort of trip and for how long for 2 people to share 20kg/1 case. Oh and I did a coach trip to Brudge with one small case shared. We even took the travel kettle and flask to save paying cafe prices.

anyone think it's possible to get two peoples packing in one case for a allowance of 20kg?. ?The only electrical gadget going will be my straighteners. The rest just t-shirts for me/DH, shorts, cardi/jumper etc. I'm getting a little worried now!!

Do you mean that you've got 20kg allowance between the 2 of you?
How long are you going for?
Won't you both have hand luggage allowance too? That may be between 5kgs and 10kgs each.

If it were me, Kirsty, I think I'd take 2 small cases as hold luggage rather than one. If one does go missing, at least you'll have SOME clothes to wear until it turns up.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know where the best place to get travel wash is please ?

I have a holiday list which I've typed up and each time I go away I tick through the things as I pack them as for several trips I would always forget my comb!! You can buy one abroad but it's the type of thing you need daily!

My Travel wash is from Tesco. Glo care, non-bio travel wash ...washes your clothes anytime up to 20 washes. It is a 100ml tube. I payed a £1 or £2 and it keeps untill it runs out. It is very good for hand washing, a small squirt and you have loads of bubbles. I would advise packing a few pegs too! Most SC supply an airer but I have also laughed when peoples washing goes over the balcony with the wind.:rotfl:Not funny realy, for the folk who's washing it is.:T

I bought some from Bodycare (not bodyshop), I think it was about 89p.

    Also try Savers, Wilko, Superdrug.
  • i cant believe how much some peopletake for one week abroad. I used to take loads but now make sure that I take enough for one week and nothing comes back unworn. My best buy was a travel hairdryer in Tenerife one year - it is a fab size, ideal for the change in voltage, and doesnt need a travel plug so we only take one of them aswell.
