Packing Tips

I normally pack light and take or buy some washing stuff (I take small tubes of gel) - things dry VERY quickly. Would be tempted take any Brit stuff you or the kids are addicted to - I buy local brands, but if you just can't live without HP sauce, likely to be quite expensive overseas.
Don't really know Turkey, but Greece is quite expensive for sunscreen and 'poorly bag' things (plasters, paracetemol, ibuprofen etc). Also have a look round poundland, Netto, Lidl etc for mossie machines and refils - these are often expensive in resorts (panic purchase power).
Which resort you headed for - bound to be somebody on here with a lot more local knowledge...0 -
Hello all , i am sure u have had many posts about people packing and the tips about what to bring./.how to pack.
Well here are my tips.
- If u are packing a laptop in your sitecase it will be more protected with a thick towel and a jumper wrapped around it , as the cases are thrown a lot.
- Socks and underwear rolled and squashed into foot wear (this tip is used LOADS)
-Phone chargers ect can be placed in socks e.c.t
-jeans folder in such a way and rolled so u can actually pack two pairs of jeans in the same amount of space as 1 ..
Hand luggage - u can squash loads into a backpack hand luggage bag,
Also when u pack to come back , all dirty washing can be squashed in all sorts of different ways , because its dirty its just being washed and ironed when ur back , that way u get some more space for soveiners

Laptops in hand luggage, not checked.
Don't understand the jeans one.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
never ever ever put a laptop in hold luggage... save £500 when you get to destination and you still have your laptop
phone chargers again go in hand luggage - still have it in one piece and don't have to go buy one, save £10
constructing your sentences in english - priceless
oh and jeans... 2 pairs flat, take up the same space as 2 pairs rolled... it is simple physics

Laptops go in hand luggage - unless you like "giving" expensive goods away
Jeans are a PITA on holiday - they are heavy, get smelly easily, are terrible when wet and are a pain to wash and dry. Take some wool mix trousers if you are going somewhere cold, or light cotton trousers elsewhere
You should also consider convertible trousers - the sort with a zip part of the way up so you can wear them long or short.
Always take flip-flops as they are useful anywhere communal that is wet
Spell "you" as "you" and not "u"

Slip a few sheets of bubble wrap in your case before you go. It weighs nothing and is handy if you intend on bringing back bottles of drink or fragile souvenirs. Here I go again on my own....0
