Hiya! :hello:
dlb I love that photo of your son, he looks so happy and proud.
Had a giggle at some of the haircut tales. I'm going to get mine cut and blown tomorrow and will get my usual 'telling off' from the hairdresser as once again I gave my fringe a little trim.:o
The weekend has flown past once again. Yesterday DD2 started her weekly swimming lessons and really enjoyed herself. She can swim but does resemble a cross between a whale and an octopus whilst swimming, so she just needs to improve her technque.:rotfl: So the new Saturday routine now is that DH takes DD1 to orchestra and I take DD2 to her swimming lessons.
DH then took DD2 to his mum's on his 'weekly trip' while DD1 and I went shopping in the city centre. I needed to get a communion gift for my niece and DD needed a new dress. She found a nice dress in George for £16 and ended up with a few extra things too.
Today we went to church and since then I haven't stopped. The ironing is done, I've made 3 pies, did the packed lunches, stripped the beds and washed/dried the bedding, finished some sewing, wrote a meal plan for the week and wrote my shopping list for the morning. I still haven't looked at today's paper and it's supposed to be a day of rest! :rotfl:
The weight loss has come to a stand still so I need to get back onto that.:o
Have a peaceful evening.:D0 -

Dlb well done to your son, and the rest of his team!
Martyn, I can lend you a three year old. I have had the benefit of his opinions on everything that I have done in the last 13 hours. Gardening, cooking, cleaning windows, ironing. Trust me, you wouldn't be lonely (you may be searching frantically for ear plugs after the first few hours though).
Hester ewwww, imagine that in your wedding album, yuk. I don't know how you cope.
BusyGirl you are lucky, my ds hates shopping, and by the next time I get to Liverpool there will be some shops I have never seen before because I get there so infrequently.0 -
I am going to MURDER this laptop. I have this script problem AGAIN. Some letters that I type come out as different text e.g

As if that is not enough, I decided to write a list of Mr. Tesco groceries.....I have been using OPENOFFICE, but instead of using the spread sheet, I have been trying to use the database. No wonder it has made a pigs ear of my list.
AhhhhhhToday, my BEST is good enough.0 -
Hello everyone,
lovely to hear of the footy match and all sorts of other things, glad you had at least a couple of nice days Martyn.
I've been quiet today as the internet hasn't been playing the game. COnsequently I've done too much I suppose.
Made a variation of Delia's Chicken Basque (dh makes rude remarks, so I tend to call it Chorizo Chicken) for this evening. DH and DS really enjoyed it and there's some to stash for another day.
Started to clear out my desk that I propose to use for sewing and put some of the sewing things in there.
Sat and sorted out some music. Have scanned it in and will list for Ebay sometime soon I think. Don't know if there's a cheap listing day in the offing.
It's good to be sitting down at last, I do feel quite a bit better, but not really well enough to go to wrk tomorrow. As soon as I move I start to cough, unless I move slowly! Can't do stairs without coughing and I'm tired. Slept last night from 11.30-9am this morning! Tuesday I have 3 lessons, 2 morning and one after lunch, so I might manage that.
Need to catch up on a few threads here now."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Evening all.
Hugs to anyone who wants/ needs one.
Hester - have you mentioned the photos of her 'sticky bits'??? I'd be tempted to leave a copy out on the printer and see what happens...
Another busy tidying day to day. The living room looks pretty damn good, especially as I bought a new iron the other day and have managed to get rid of a load of wax from the carpet. Its been there nigh on a year, (I know!) albeit under a rug, but DH was going to get rid of it. (He left the candles too close to the fire in the first place, when we had a powercut.) So after getting fed up of it I did it myself. Looks much better.
The kitchen hasn't really improved much today, but its on DH's list for this week.
DH's oldest sister bobbed by this afternoon, on her way home from their other sisters. Lovely to see her, and glad she saw the house looking tidy for a change! She seemed quite impressed, but of course she doesn't know about the last couple of days manic tidy up.
Washed the living room rug, and then made the mistake of sticking it in the dryer. DH had to hoover all the bits of rubber backing out of the filter...
Anyway, battery about to die. Have a good night all,
MethererNot heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.

Evening all,
Stayed in bed very late to-day, must have been midday before I went downstairs...mind you I had sorted a few things around upstairs so wasn't feeling too guilty.
Had salmon, broccoli and baked potatoes for dinner, pudding for me was a couple of scones, realised that I had nothing to offer elderly cousin with a cuppa when he called so bunged a batch into oven...have heartburn now justice I suppose!
Off to Cork for a funeral in the morning...was intending to drive but DS3 reminded me that we have free travel so will save some petrol money, even with getting taxi to church and back to station.. train would cost us over € 100 if OH wasn't over 66 .... everyone 66 and over here gets free public transport and I go free when with OH, rarely use it as most places we go are off beaten track but must think more carefully of ways to avoid car use.
Off to bed early as need to leave hear at 7.20 am and I am now out of that habit.
Smoky, PenPin and Anniestar....hugs
Night all

We were talking of hair disasters earlier...tonight eldest DD offered to trim DD2s fringe-she has done it before and done a great job... not tonight though-it's...well... short to say the least-DD2 was v upset, I have tried to reassure her it will be ok in a couple of weeks... Obviously DD1 has been told in no uncertain terms she isn't allowed to cut anyone's hair any more!!!!
I had a disaster of my own tonight-nothing to do with hair. I decided to make some bread by hand. I found some wholemeal flour, yeast, everything I needed. I made the bread, didn't rise as much as I expected when prooving. When I took it out of the oven...let's just say we won't be feeding any ducks for a while just in case they don't survive. It's edible...just but it does lay heavy...if I threw one of the breadrolls at someone it could knock them out cold. I found this strange that the bread didn't go to plan...until I read that the flour was not strong wholemeal...just wholemeal and according to the recipe I should have used half strong white and half wholemeal anyway...:o oopsGE 36 *MFD may 2043

Just been to your blog and read the story of SIL.
That is so unfair after all you have done to keep your home. I'm normally totally opposed to any form of violence but I would make an exception for her.0 -
I have just received the most frightening (to read) e.mail-I am presuming it is spam. The sender claims he is a hitman and wants to kill me because some one has paid him and they want me dead????? I just wondered if anyone else has received anything similar at any time recently in their private (as opposed to mse) e.mail account???GE 36 *MFD may 2043
