    ((((hugs)))) Martyn

Going on holiday on your own is great - but I don't think you're ready for it yet ;)

Come back here and spend more fabulous time in delightful company (:D) and try the solo holiday thing again a while down the line when you feel that being single and footloose is a positive thing :)

i have just had my best friend and her family round for lunch - as she lives 4 hours drive away - i dont see her that often.. she has been about 25 miles away visiting her mum. she phoned in the week to suggest meeting up for lunch after church and suggested going for a pub lunch so i invited her here instead.. i have fed 6 of us for under a tenner (including wine)we had two courses!! it would have cost more than this just for me if we had gone out!! i am well pleased with myself!

hope everyone else is having a good day!!

Hello everyone - hope you have had a good day. ((((hugs)))) to those in need.
I am still feeling full after a big lunch - we had roast chicken, potatoes, carrots, cabbage, sprouting broc and cauliflower cheese. Followed by not-very-OS ready made cheesecake OR...........drum roll........tinned pears, ice cream and a dollop of condensed milk. My, I haven't had that since mum served it up for pud when I was young. It was as good as i remembered and my 23 yr old DD couldn't believe I'd never given her it before, when it was so delicious (um, maybe the teeth rotting aspect of it was in my mind then).
I've already gone back to the fridge and had a teaspoonful of the rest of the cond. milk. yum yum.
Sunny day here - hope for some good weather this week
Off to read back through the thread

Afternoon, just called back in to see if any more 'hair raising' tales had appeared  I'm so pleased they have.

I've been and collected some pork this afternoon, it's from a friend who lives in the countryside and keeps bees, chickens and now pigs.
Mum & I have bagged up loads of chops about 85 and some joints of pork and about 10lb of sausages, he also included a huge bage of ribs. I've no idea as to the cost of pork nowadays, as I get so fed up of cooking stuff that tastes like string I've stopped buying it. But I think we have got a bargain and Mr Twit is looking forward to tasting the chops.

DLB, I'm sorry they lost the match, but the lads did really well getting to the final.
I'd better go and sort out tea for the ravenous hordes, I'm off out for a chinese :D

Love to all The Twit. :grouphug:

I've just spent half an hour sorting out my printer, I tried to print a document & it failed & there were 37 documents in the queue. How does Katy manage it, even I'd find it difficult to queue that many documents. I have now solved the problem Katy had been using the HP software for her photos instead of the Finepix. I now have 10 photos of her 'sticky bits' in amongst my DD's wedding photo's, I'm making a disc of DD's pics with backing music, I best be sure I don't slip any of Katy's pic in by mistake.

Wow, Hester, how do you stand it?

Martyn - I agree with Bargain - you're just not ready for solo holidays yet.

Well, I have played a manic game of footie in the garden with my DGS and DGD - the weather was great; must have been 20C but it now looks like heavy rain is on the way. Still, DH has mowed the lawns so if it rains we haven't got to wait for the grass to dry.

Dinner is almost ready so I shall enjoy that then have an early bath and settle down to some more knitting. Have no idea what's on the telly but I'll fall asleep anyway so it doesn't matter.

Hope everyone is OK and has a great evening.
