First of all good luck to master dlb, hope you win xx

Great day here weather wise, bright and sunny but blowing, have got our bedding in the wm on a boil wash so will get that out today.

Got roast chicken for lunch, with roasties, cauli brocoli and leek cheese (dd eats any veg covered in cheese sauce ;) ) and baby carrots, looking forward to it, I always shove a pierced lemon up the chickens b*m, and lots of garlic, makes the meat very moist.

Will then settle down and watch a dvd oh got me the Other Boleyn Girl, so will watch that. Need to go out this morning and get a new book, will finish my old one today and can't not have a new one to start iykwim.

DD is back to school tomorrow after the easter hols, so need to make sure she is all ready, think I will get her to make her own lunch up.

Suesy sue what are you cooking for martyn today ? xx

Pen pin hope you are ok x

    Smokey hugs as always xx

    Hello all !

Wasn't sure I'd be about this morning..........last night the lens fell out my glasses -varifocals and I need them all the time............seeing through one lens no good ! Anyway, I located my old ones and they seem to suffice till I can get to the opticians in the morning and get the new ones fixed........what a panic............thought my eyes felt weird, tried to put the lens back in and got it a bit askew so everything was sort of 'swimming' about.............lol Then it fell out again and OH had a look and there's a little screw missing that holds it in.................thank goodness I didn't chuck my old ones out !
I'm in between paint drying at the minute.............painting plant trough first hubby made in the 1960's for my parents and when we cleared the house I couldn't leave it there.............so, coat of paint (now I've at last decided which colour) OH's got a piece of would that will lay on the top so it'll double up as a shelf and I can stuff my brolly's and scarves etc. inside out of view. Wretched thing was a hotspot for bunging anything in..........well, no more, and thats another corner of computer room sorted out !:T

Haver a great day all and hugs ((((((((((((:o )))))))) to all those who need them
    Mary

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Hi - just popped back in to wish Master DLB good luck in his Cup Final!

Have just made some cakes - they're in the oven and the timer's about to go.

(((Hugs))) to all the poorly ones.

DISCOUNT-DIVA - how do you get on with the Alexander Technique.? I'm thinking about going along to my local one and would be interested in your experiences. It sounds so good from all that I have read; I'm sure it would help my aching back!

Well, timer's just gone so I'd better get the cakes out before I forget.

    See you all later.

    Morning everyone

It`s raining here today and is quite miserable so i don`t feel that the day is wasted as i`m at w**k:D

Sunday dinner will be spicy wedges and hm tuna fishcakes with peas, i won`t have time to so a roast as we are off to the hospital later to see Auntie.
When we get home it will be a mad dash to get the chores done, hop in the shower then off to bed as it`s another early start in the morning.

It will be my weekend off next week so if the weather is going to be nice then it will be even better as my garden really needs sorting out.
    Back to the grindstone now.
    Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

    Morning everyone :hello:
I've just taken my second loaf out of my new panny I bought yesterday. If it's as good as the first one, I'm well impressed. The MR fastbake was ok but the bread wass very cakey and dense. I have freecycled the other one so it's off to a new home later today. I'm taking my Mum to do her groceries today, then will come back and hopefully finish my greenhouse. DH made it for me from old wood we had removed during our bedroom renovation. Dad gave me plastic sheeting to cover it with, so nice wee lean to greenhouse for a total cost of £0 :D:D

Tea I haven't decided on yet, must go root round in the freezer to see what's there. Lunch will be sarnies.

(((((hugs))))) to everyone who needs them, especially smoky Martyn and pen-pin

Off to catch up now, see you all later.

    Good morning all!

Had to jump out of bed quick sharp this morning as dd3 had a party, friend turned up to collect her, i thought it started at 10ish, but they arrived 8.30  not a great start! Have now put vast quantity of mince, lentils, toms, grated carrots and leftover liquid from yesterdays beef casserole into slow cooker - will do lasagne, spag bol portions, chilli etc later when its all cooked.

Slight disaster here, I hate having my hair cut, so usually dd2 just trims the ends a little when necessary, but last night dd1 did it  For some reason she thought she'd turned into flippin Vidal Sassoon, I now have a bob and look like a wartime refugee at best, and Dougall from the Magic Roundabout at worst:rotfl: Looks like I shall be off to the hairdresser tomorrow now, think some layers might help, either that or I shall be asking if anyone has any balaclava knitting patterns!

Got to collect dd3 and her friend in a bit, then when oh gets back from the gym we're off to pizza express for dd1's birthday meal, bit late but we were busy over her actual day! Anyone after butchering me she's lucky to be going - can anyone tell I'm traumatised by my haircut, lol!

Anyway, have a good day everyone x

    Hiya,
I bought a spectacle repair kit from Hawkins bazaar for 99p for when that happens to me.
It contains some small screws which fit all glasses so that you can repair them yourself.
    Here's the link:
    http://www.hawkin.com/find/keyword-is-spectacles+repair+kit/product-is-00424
I buy lots of stocking fillers from them so just ordered the kit with them (it wouldn't be worth paying P&P for kit alone) but don't know if you are near one of their branches? Have a look at the store locator.
Might save you a bit of money if your opticians don't do it for free! ;)

I'm just popping back to share my latest OS disasters with you.
    1) I got some mince out of the freezer last night and stuck it in the slow cooker this morning with some hot water and a couple of OXO cubes. The mince was 'The Finest' from Morrisons.....just given it a stir and it looks like a cross between an old mophead and those Ood things on Dr Who last night....Miss Twit has seen this concoction and asked what is it....I don't think the reply of 'your tea' went down too well.
    2) Having discovered several grey hairs recently, I've been looking at hair dye in Boots, a couple of weeks ago, i bought a semi-permanent one in a brown shade....not too dark just a medium sort of colour. I suppose the name on the colour tube of Mahogany should have warned me, but no. I now have purply/brown hair and a sniggering daughter.....

Just wait, she will eat that mop for her tea, especially as I have just blitzed it with the hand blender. :D:D
