    Hi everyone,

dlb, sounds like your ds (and you) had a great time, love his little pic!
also Sunnydays, can I ask where that beach is, it looks lovely.

I've had a nice morning, blitzed the kitchen this morning, was going to do it last night but had far to much wine while browsing on here!
Walked DD to her party, normally would have driven and had a jog back!!
I've also been following Martins advise about driving better - allowing the car to slow instead of slamming on the breaks....I reckon it going to save me loads and I feel a lot calmer when I'm driving!!

OH is going to take the cars to check the tyre pressure while I do a roast...feeling quite chilled which is very unusual for me on a Sunday, normally I'm running around stressing about stuff for the rest of the week....you lot must be a good influence so thank you!!

    Have a nice day everyone.

Talking of bad hair experiences, I remember 2 instances from when I was young. My mum was to blame for most of them (well maybe I was too cos I went along with it lol) First was when I decided I wanted a fringe and she cut it and taped it down with sellotape while it was wet so it would stay put. OMG the agony of getting the sellotape off afterwards:eek:  :rotfl:

The second was when she was trimming my fringe once and it was a bit wonk so she did it again, by the time she had finished I had about half an inch of fringe left.
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
When I was little my mum used to put my hair in pipecleaners to make it curly, but instead of just pulling her fingers through it she used to brush it hard with a nylon brush and i ended up looking like Crystaltips!!!! All the kids at school had a right laugh

    Afternoon all
    Hugs to PP & Smokey.
We have a few hours peace here as Katy has gone to church. She's admitted to me that she is dreading going back to school & that she has constant nightmares about the kids, maybe she shouldn't be a teacher?
Hubby & I have been to the fish shop & bought a couple of male guppies as we only had females left. I thought it might cheer hubby up as he is very worried about his brother and the job. I try to be supportive, but really I'd like to bang BIL & SIL's heads together & tell them to grow up.
Anyhow, Lamb with new pots for tea & packups to make for tomorrow, back to work full time tomorrow. I got some reduced ham so ham sarnies it is, it should be a quiet day as the kids aren't back till Tuesday. I've been really lazy for the last 2 weeks & now feel rested & ready for work.
    Hugs Hester

    Hi Laura,
it`s the beach in Perranporth, it`s gorgeous and i can`t wait to get down there again later in the year.

Thanks peeps for the belated Birthday wishes.

Speaking about haircuts i`ve had many many disasters over the years, the last was just over a year ago when Dh cut the ends for me, he started at one side and worked his way around but it was 2 inches shorter at one side  By the time he`d finished it was around 5 inches shorter altogether.
I remember in my younger years going to bed with a dye on my hair whilst wearing a shower cap and waking up to bright orange hair, i looked like a belisha beacon
I`ve also had a "tattycath incident" where my hair was white like cotton wool after a bleaching session :D
I`m surprised i`ve got any hair left at all, it`s badly in need of cutting now but i`m going to wait and get it done properly.
    Catch up later.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Hi DLB - so sorry the team lost but what true sporting behaviour to be gracious in defeat and still be on a high. That's what sport should be about. So, well done, anyway!

Morning all - well it is for me anyway! coughed all night again and ended up listening to the big fight on the radio - didn't wake up till gone 1pm. I'm supposed to be going back to work on tuesday but will try to get a drs appointment before then and see if I can get the rest of the week off. I'm going to a friends tomorrow for a very posh lunch so must be fittish for that.

Congratulations to Master dlb for getting to the final and showing true sportsmanship.

Well I think I'll get dressed and try to sort the house out a bit - I have been a bit of a moany old cow this week so will try and muster up the energy to make a gypsy tart to make amends
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

    Afternoon everybody :hello:

    Hugs as required :grouphug:

I did not get half the things done yesterday that I intended to... however it wasn't too bad - I now have a freezer full of bacon and tomato risotto, my cookerhood has both its lights working again, and I'm halfway into writing an opera review I've been putting off doing all week (second half needs to be done as soon as I've posted this!)

This morning I've been at church - we sang this really amazing anthem that I always look forward to when it gets its annual performance. Then, had to drop into the box office at the Royal Albert Hall so decided to walk there through Hyde Park, it was gorgeous weather and the park wasn't too busy either so it was a really lovely walk.

No sooner had I got home and logged on here than I got a phone call from my sister, which was great - we are not very good at keeping in touch with each other :o Anyway, she wanted to tell me that she and her BF are buying a house, which is great news - they are both in the RAF and they have been finding it difficult to spend much time together, and I get the impression that when they are living on base it's a bit like living in student halls, all the silliness that goes on :D So they are buying a house in a lovely little village, only a few miles away from where my Mum lives, so will be able to see more of them :j We also chatted about how to stop Mum stressing out too much about the fact that sis is getting posted to Iraq later this year. Sis is more stressed about the house purchase than the impending trip to a war zone :rotfl:

The bad hair stories have been making me laugh... I've been quite unadventurous in that area, so no real horror stories... yet
mummysaver, don't worry about your hair....I asked Mr Pink to take an inch off mine earlier this year, being a man his idea of an inch is very different to mine  and he cut six wonky inches off!
(Desperately trying to resist making obvious joke... no, it's no use... better out than in...) So, Pink, is there anything else in his life that's definitely an inch long but he's certain is six times that?

Right, must get back to my review - going out this evening to a concert.

    Love Rzl xx

    Hello all.

I'm back "home" early coz being on my own is 'orrible  I will admit that I had a couple of fabulous days in delightful company but as for the rest, it's not for me. Although I've the better part of another week to go, I've decided to go back to work tomorrow. If I'm destined to be a miserable s*d for the rest of my life, I might as well not bother with holidays, go back to working 12 hours a day 7 days a week, and get paid while I'm being miserable :o .
