Oh dear yet another instance of forum rage, why can't people discuss things without having the desire to flap their virtual E-Penis' out of the window and into the breeze with the sole purpose of winding up others. Geez get a grip.
I'm not aiming this at anybody or trying to cause offence, but their are several threads running on the forum all with the same topic and it's all getting a little bit 'samey' and won't achieve anything, other than perhaps making you feel better for having a little vent.
Fuel prices will rise, and will be taxed to the hilt that is a fact of life, did you not see this coming when they passed 70p, 80p or 90p?, what? you expected them to go down? or somebody else to do something?.
Accept that most people don't seem that bothered, or are simply resigned to it. A petrol protest was held a few months ago, and 20-ish, YES 20-ish people turned up to support them?, were you one of them?. How many people are there in the UK using cars? and what percentage is 20 people of that total. Perhaps now you'll realise that in everyday life people are not really that interested...but add 2p onto a bottle of oil of ulay and all hell will break loose (Tongue in cheek by the way). Deal with it and move on!.
Very soon you'll need a mortgage to run a car, but the majority of people will find some way to adapt, just like they did when 60p a ltr eventually become 70p a ltr etc etc.
Again, i'm not aiming to cause offence, just making a few observations which you may choose to either accept or not.0 -

Weel, Chris I have not heard of that protest, otherwise I would have sent BF to it. I cannot go myself because I have 2 jobs which take 7 days of my week. (Why? you wonder, because I wanna save money for a house).
Moreover, I dont really think that people in front of the houses of parliament will change a thing. Well, just of the money everyone will spend on the train to get there... The aim is to svae money, not spend it. I think that a big official petition from this site should be used, like the debt in front of kids campaign. But this is just my idea, my little twitchy opinion. i have already suggested that and all I got was some answers from the commonly submitted sheeps. So I guess I am better off shutting my big claphole before i get trucified..."Don't cry, Don't Raise your Eye

droopsnout, if we were taking such an offence of any little comment about non-brits, then we will be offended by half the contributors.
I just point it out to people and let it go once they apologised. And this thread was about petrol prices. i fyou want ot complain about the racist jokes then I would suggest you start your own thread."Don't cry, Don't Raise your Eye
It's only teenage wasteland"

Oh and BTW
the original offender PMd me to apologise and ask me if I wanted him to edit his post, I told him I had let go of it. So I guess he will be better off editing it?"Don't cry, Don't Raise your Eye

OK, MFG. I have deleted my post! I'm sure by now you appreciate that not all Brits are like that.Much of the social history of the Western world over the past three decades has involved replacing what worked with what sounded good. - Thomas Sowell, "Is Reality Optional?", 19930

Why are you taking things so personally?. I agree that some of the comments above are out of order and should be edited, but when you post agressively yourself then the authors of the replies will often be already on the defensive. Your comments and opinions are just as valid as anybody elses, and if 'they' tell you differently then 'they' are wrong!. Sometimes it's easy on a forum without aural cues or bady language to believe that the general comments and opinions made by others are made out of spite and directed at something we've said or an opinion we hold dear, and often this is totally wrong, misconstrued or taken way out of context.
My point above, is that you can gauge the interest of the general public by how they place their priorites and what level of importance certain areas play in their lives over others. For instance, you could start a thread on Fuel prices or hold a protest and you may get 40 or 50 replies and a little support. However, announce that football is to be banned, or soap operas will no longer be screened on TV, then the forum would collapse under the traffic and there would be an outcry.

no i am not taking it personnally, in the end, i am not obliged to read the responses.
True that some people have other and (in their opinion at least) better priorities. to be honest BF has to drive 44 miles to work back AND forth. This is why the subject matters to us. well to some other people, football is more important than breathing, which i dont understand but I respect those views. I never said that people were not entitled to their opinions. i dont have anything against anyone who thinks deifferently from me. but I DO have something against those people who thinks differently AND will deny me my right to having my opinion.
I do agree with the priorities stuff: I work in a supermarket on the weekends, and you should see how people get upset because the kellogs crunchy nuts are not in a 375 format anymore but only in a 500g format. I just thought there were better bigger things to get upset about, that's all."Don't cry, Don't Raise your Eye

Don't believe the propaganda!
I listen to an american radio station in Oregon via the internet during the weekdays whilst at work.
Yesterday, the on the news they reported that the petrol went 'down' in price and the industry is stabalising.
I come home to the six o'clock news and hear more 'rip off Britain' stuff again. This government and media has a lot to answer for.more dollar$ than sense0 -
taxi97w is dead right.
if you go to www.oregongasprices.com it shows you what the movement is for one day / one week / one month / last year etc.
you can get the same details for any American state by typing <A href="http://www."state">www."state of choice"gasprices.com
MTC
p.s. this is what happens when fuel prices are governed by market forces and pricing is not distorted by punative taxes0
