petrol prices going up, fill up now

I heard that petrol prices are going up atleast 5pa litre at midnight tonight so fill up now if you can.

Don't really need to fill up until Friday...but it is understandable considering what has happened to oil prices post katrina

USA, Canada prices have all went up 40c, oil price is now a record $70US a barrel, and some petrol stations are putting them up already like service stations

so what? my tank is almost already ful anyway... i ll tell BF though, he drives for 80 miles a day to get to work so his vectra might need a tank. But I am somehow doubtful this trend will affect us...

I am not sure we will see the US style scenario as they have a specific shortage of petrol rather than oil as many of the refinerys are out of action - not sure if petrol gets tankered (shipped) arround as much as oil cos it is too imflammable (can anyone confirm this?)

Having said all this I will fill up today as it could save I guess 3 quid

hopefully wont go up anymore other nearly every petrol station in the country will have to change their signs to accept 4 digit numbers

they can as back in 2000 when the strikes were about to kick in they were 101.9 a litre+

maybe if we get enough people panicking we can make the prices rocket ?
or just invade some middle eastern state - that usually does the trick.

how is it that OPEC can't actually control the price? must be the worst cartel in history.
