The favourites are stored on the transflash memory card, ceeebeee. In other words, it doesn't matter if you have batteries in the Garmin, as everything is saved to card. You won't lose them unless you wipe them off the memory card.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

I used to have a NAVMAN ICN630 (that unfortunately got stolen from my car) and I remember that the navman areal didn't pick the satellite signal through certain type of 'reflective' (or something like that) windscreens and you had to buy an outside areal for that. That seemed to be the case for new cars, mine is an old banger so I never had that problem. The problem with the outside areals is that you have to make a hole on the windscreen to get the cable through if I remember correctly. I think that might be the case with your Garmin, you may need to get an external areal for that? Have you tried using it outside the car? If it works outside the car then, that's the problem.jcubeduk wrote:Hi,
Just about to buy the i3 from Garmin, has anyone had problems picking up a signal in their car? Has anyone used this unit in a 3 year old Astra?
Thanks

Does anyone know which one model RZ1710 is out of the tomtom gps in car navigation systems? As thats all it says so I don't know if its the 300 500 or 700, I doubt if its 700 as it would prob be more money but they also said it needs internet access when I rang to ask but they didn't know which one it was either. Do all of them need internet access? I thought everything was on ready to go?
Do all of these have speed camera warnings? and can you use them for navigation out of the car too? Its just hard to choose which one. I know the tomtoms are popular but I heard the customer support was really bad so I'm not sure which to getThanx
