I think the difference between the two products is the GPS Software, Gizmondo Navigator™ 2006, which retails at £99.99, but you can buy it bundled for £199. The Argos bundle for £129 mentions nothing of the software, just it's GPS functionality. I cannot confirm this but research would strongly suggest it. Can you tell me what extras are needed? And can this system be downloaded with the speed cameras? I am still looking to buy 2 for the kids and it's a toss up between this and the i3. My son will need to have the cameras on it. (am a new user to home computing so still trying to work out how to do it for the Tom Tom 300).

Any help gratefully received.

Well i am totally new to this sat nav stuff. Was originally looking for a speed camera detector like Road Angel, but then discovered for a similar price that I could get something that would navigate me around as well!

I opted for a Mio 168 with TomTom 5.1 which I got on ebay for £300. I then used free plug-ins so that it will notify me of speed cameras, specs, mobile locations etc. It does not include a laser sensor (which might possibly be banned anyway if some new legislation goes through - and to be honest stuff like road angel will warn you too late for you to do anything about it anyway).

The Mio168 includes built in GPS. So I can use it both in the car, and also on foot or even my bike without needing the extra aerial (which is supplied anyway).

The kit also came with a carry case, in car fittings. tomtom seems to be really good as well and will recalculate your route if you go wrong.

I have been amazed at how good this kit is and would highly recommend it.

Oh and it also means I can type word documents on the go, play games, play mp3's, play movies etc as well!

I had one of these delivered today. The maplin website states that US maps are available - they are not (4-6 weeks). It's not as good as I first thought
