Which is the best satalight navigation system that you can remove when you get out of the car for safety? and preferably 2 holders to use in another car if possible
I want one that is very precise, do they ever make mistakes? I want one that is clear simple and covers everything. What about if there are roadworks or road closures what happens there?
Which is the best and as foolproof as possible and of course the best value for money?Thanx

For safety, do you mean so no-one knows you have one to steal? Most come on a window mount which attaches with a suction pad. You can normally remove the whole unit and take it with you, or put it in the glove box.
They do make mistakes, they are mainly reliant on the quality of the unit and the maps that are loaded. I've heard mainly good things about the mapping on most, although some older units now have out of date maps (I saw one from 2003!)
Most only come with one holder, but you can pick another up from ebay for less than £10.
The tomtom's are prob the best for ease of use, but are expensive.0 -
Makro have THIS one for £235 inc vat at the moment.
I've just got one on 'appro' ( 28 day return policy) !
Quite impressed, loverly toy, but then I've not had one before, experimenting with position in car at moment since I have a Peugeot 307SW with metalised screen
I was (stlll am) considering the Garmin i3, but after using this with its 3" x 2.3" screen, I'm not sure the i3 would be readable enough for me, although not seen an i3 in the flesh yet0 -
The Garmin i3 firmware version 2.4 is available to download at http://www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=995 this fixes the hanging issue.
Thanks to cuppa from http://www.pocketgps.co.uk forums0 -
