The Tom To 5 bundle includes street level mapping of Europe. I have used in Holland and Belgium perfectly, without any problems. The difference is 'main roads' and 'street level'. Hope this helps.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I use a cable that connects powers the Road Angel via cigar socket. It connects to the data connector on the back of the Road Angel. A spur then comes off and plugs into the Ipaq to transfer the GPS signal. The Ipaq is also powered through this. You have to program the Road Angel to output the GPS signal via the onscreen menu. This is all in the instructions. Data cable available from holux, https://www.holux-uk.com.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

Hi,
I noticed some comments about Road-angel and PDA’s.
I have a ‘New Road Angel’ which is possibly what has noted and an IPAQ hx2100.
I have ordered TomTom5 software and was about to order a GPS receiver but if my Road Angel can receive the GPS signals that would be much better and tidier.
Looking at the road-angel website it says I just need a serial cable to connect, do you know what else I would need to connect or where to get the cable from ?
The cable on the Blackspot website shows a serial cable but how do you connect that to the PDA?

How do you get **updates** for Garmin StreetPilot GPS ??
Do you have to buy it?All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy.0 -
if you go to https://www.maplin.co.uk and go to the streetpilot i3, u can download the streetpilot poi uploader for free which uploads all the data onto the spi3, or go to the garmin website and get it for free from there

I bought a TomTom Go last Christmas, based on the recommendations of an earlier incarnation of this board. I wanted an all in one system without having to worry about setting up/compatibility issues etc and I would say that I found it really simple - you more or less get it out of the box, push the supplied memory card into the slot & you are off. I found the instruction book pretty clear too with pictures of the screen etc to make it really obvious what you had to do.
TomTom have released newer models since then but I would imagine they are similarly straightforward.
I would thoroughly recommend it, saved all sorts of "discussions" between myself and husband, we just leave it to "Tom" to tell us the route. It has also got a really good database of useful things (Points of Interest) like petrol stations, rail stations, shopping centres etc. I travel on business quite a lot & I find it really handy for finding the nearest shops! We also used Tom in France this summer - only the main roads are included but that got us to within a couple of hundred yards of the campsite we were after, and was a lot easier than following French road signs. It also reminds you which way to go round roundabouts!0
