Tony, I just plugged the garmin in and uploaded the updated software to it. It worked fine. I didn't stick it in simulator mode. To stick it in simulator mode, you just switch the gps off.
Settings
System
GPS mode
GPS Off.
Do the above and you're in simulator mode.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Halfords have a Garmin Foretrex 101 GPS Personal Navigator for £149.99 at the moment.0

The Garmin Streetpilot i3 apparently has a diagonal screen size of only 1.7 inches. I don't know about anyone else, but that seems a little on the small size for any sort of display.
By the way, 1.7 inches is about half the size of my index finger! Or about 2.5 standard postage stamps wide!
Has anyone found the screen size of this product to be an issue?0 -

Is that the same one as this at Amazon @ £107.99 incl postage?

I haven't had any issues with the screen size. If anything, it makes it easier to position the unit so that I don't have to avert my eyes from the road. I have mine on the windscreen directly in front of my steering wheel, just above the dash. It doesn't obscure my view of the road and is easy to look at as I'm driving along. In a rut? Can't get out? I'm thinking that an extra £32 for an Acer N35 PDA/GPS
One minor hassle has come to light with it though, if you forget to switch it on before charging it looses all its settings

Is it really only an unbelieveable 1.7 inches though?0 -
Just bought a second one from Comet for my other car.
Top unit, size is it's greatest asset for me, means I can position it pretty much anywhere (which I couldn't with the bigger units).0 -
