It's not knackered, Tony. You should still be able to transfer the new data onto the transflash. Plug the unit in and switch it on. It will say System Software Missing. Find the Garmin Updater on your pc and click it. It will then upload the new software to your Garmin. If you can't find the updater, unzip the zip file again and remember where you've stored it. If you can't see it then, you've downloading the POI software and not the update. You need:

Don't forget to ask when shopping in Aldi (or is it Lidl) Picked up a MyGuide (mitec Mio 168) today, Im asked if they still had any....was told nobody seems to ask after the first few days. None were on display but managed to get the last one in the store....came with all the cables, car goodies (and bike!), mapping software and 256mb SD card all for £199.00Welcome, rogerramjet.

thats a good buy roger,got a mitac 168 myself and works a treat,very neat and being a pda has more flexability,have downloaded all the speed cameras and the extra poi,s.i find the bigger screen size a bonus,for £199 you cant go wrong.

Software is Falk Premium Edition, it was pre-loaded. Had a quick try of it, looks ok but totally different menu systems from TomTom which I'm used to.Welcome, rogerramjet.

Sorry if this is a stupid question..does anyone know what sat nav systems the ambulance service (essex) use, is it one of these you have all been talking about? Only asking cos im thinking of getting husband one and id like it to be the same as he uses at work.....obviously i could ask him, but then there would be no surprise - Thanks.0
