Going to disagree (:o) with you on the chickpeas example as there is a recipe for houmous on the SW website which uses blended chickpeas, I think its a really icky area to explain
If you make a cake from chickpeas it has to be synned as it's misuse of a food (ie: chickpeas were never intended to be used to make cake). However, houmous is normally made from chickpeas so it can never be classed as misuse.
It was found that some people were making, and eating a whole cake every day  and obviously that's not normal or healthy, so this why there's a line between use and misuse. I would think it highly unlikely that anyone would stuff themselves silly with houmous but many people would with cake (it wasn't that bad actually, but you had to rinse the chickpeas for ages before using them).
We were always told that Frylight was free as long as you didn't take the top off and pour it out. Wonder if the story about using several bottles to fry chips is an urban myth
Rugbymum the mousse would be fine, though you should (to follow the plan 100%) syn the raspberries if they're mashed. I make a mousse with sugar-free jelly, made up to ½ pint with water, add a large pot of fat-free yoghurt or fromage frais and whisk madly till it almost doubles in size. Allow to cool/set and serve with a load of fresh fruit alongside..........2 syns the lot!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Ok if I can't mush the raspberries and they still be free then I'm going to kill myself right now.
I'm sorry but that's ridiculous! I'm trying to make an expensive thing go further and you're saying I should syn them? WHY???? I don't get it. I'm not eating them pureed or mashed (technically "crushed", almost spreading if you will, stretching!). Should I chop them instead?
As for the rest it's exactly what I do.LBM:FEB 2008

Just to clarify again ... I was disagreeing about the generalisation of chick peas ground up being syns in BBs post as was completely unaware she was directly referring to the cake till I re-read the post later.. of course I can see the relevance of the cake thing as chick peas are not designed for that purpose. Apologies if I have upset you again consultant31, seems to be a common thing when I try to make a helpful post0 -

I would have thought if chopped bananas are ok, as is chopping fruit to make a fruit salad then just roughly chopping the raspberries to quarters would be ok as the directory refers to syns for pureed/cooked raspberries. However I have little confidence in my advice at the moment so dont sue me if I am wrong0 -

It gets to the point where I just wanna eat cos' I'm so ticked off!
I don't want whole raspberries in the mousse, not the texture I'm aiming for, but then I don't want them pureed either (not what I said in the first place anyway!).
In order to do this properly should we be synning the fruit salads too?;)LBM:FEB 2008

Daily eating plan Good morning everyone, feeling a little fragile this morning after overindulging in wine last night - will have to be extra good all weekend now for weigh in Monday morning:cool:
Today I am having:
Breakfast/Brunch - bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, HM citrus fruit salad (free)
Afternoon - scan bran cakes, coffe with milk and and that new muller yogurt with chocolate flakes ( heb, hea, free)
Dinner - turkey steaks cooked in casserole with carrots, parsnips, onions served with mashed potato and mange tout (I know the mange tout sounds a little strange in there but just found them in the dish washer and need to use them up:o)(OK now realised that veg in my dishwasher also sounds a little weird:rotfl:, it broke down a while ago and I havn't bothered to get it repaired so now use it as a cold storage box!:T)
Hope you have a lovely day
Love from Marion the WeirdWhen life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0
