I think you may have me mixed up with someone else, as much as I would have loved to have lost 2.5 lbs over Xmas I actually gained 7 lbs:o:o, however I have lost 4 1/2 pounds the week after Christmas which did include New Years Eve:T:T

  • Hi everyone

Thank you for welcoming me to the group, had to change my dinner last nite but still managed to keep to plan & under the syns.

    Today`s menu

Breakfast - 2 weetabix, milk & banana (heb, hea & free)

Lunch - Pasta Salad again (i have this everyday but it fills me up & stops me wanting crisps/chocolate from the machine - that way i`m losing "lbs" & not "£`s") (free)

Dinner - Jacket Potato, beans & cheese (free & hea)

Hi Fi bar (heb & chocolate incl)

well done to everyone who managed to lose weight after the new yr.

Can someone help me with the new extra easy plan - are you able to mix this with normal red/green, mix to max & success express days as you currently can or do you have to do this plan for the week - I only ask as I read the book & it said this was designed for new people to follow & then the consultant would conf when it was best to swap to green/red days etc. I dont want to follow the new plan & find I slow my weight loss cos as you can see I have put on alot in the last 3 wks??

Thanks for any info/advice - I am also gonna try to get hold of my consultant today to check aswell

    Thanks

spud - no, you aren't going 'wrong', but if you eat too little (going on what a consultant has told me in the past) you may not lose as quickly after the initial 'drop' because the body metabolism slows down.

First weigh in for me after a week on EE - 4 pound loss. I'm kind of pleased, but my initial weigh in was at 2pm, rather than 9.30, so I'm wondering if it isn't a true reflection, but hey, I'll go with it and see what another week of EE brings, mainly because it is very easy to do.

I watched the first of the Paul McKenna shows on catch up last night (4 golden rules) and thought -there is nothing new about this! WWW have had a starving to feeling sick chat for years and all plans say eat slowly, stop when you feel full! I might watch the next one today.

    Food today:

    B: porridge
L: potato, spring onion and bacon omelette
    D:cottage pie with peas

well done Penguine and RugbyMum on your weigh ins
wish i could join you both in your successes but I failed and had my weigh in tonight and put on a lb this week. Have to admit to being a bit upset as I have been doing tons of exercise all week but I did go off the plan on NYE. I guess over the the two weeks- xmas and new year i only put on 1 1/2 but I really need to start seeing some results .

Anyway onto a new week now .
STOP feeling like you've failed and don't be upset hun.
You have the support and knowledge to get on plan. You need to put the whole holiday insanity behind you and just look forward.
You CAN do this and I have every confidence that you will have a better week.
Our consultant said that the AVERAGE gain, in our group, was 10lb over the holiday period. Yes 10LB! Some had gained as much as 12lbs!
So those of us who only gained a couple of lbs should be pleased with ourselves.

  • Well hello and welcome Michealas!!

And well done on the WI's Rugbymum and Penguin. Rugbymum, maybe that was just the incentive you need to get back on track!! Just goes to show that although you weren't following the plan exactly, you were probably still making a lot more healthy choices than if you weren't thinking about it at all, so you've managed to balance out the "sabotages" as you put it! :D

I'm gonna stop posting my eating plans in advance, as inevitably, I end up changing them! ;) Yesterday went as follows:

Brekkie: 2 slices WM toast (HEB) spread with Flora Light (Syns?), Low fat Natural Yoghurt (Free), Pint of Water

Lunch: Kippers (Free), Salad - Lettuce, onion, Cucumber, Carrot, Pepper and Cherry Toms, 2 slices of cold meat, Mullerlight Yoghurt, 1 Can of Diet Coke.

Dinner: Gammon Steak, glazed with honey and Mustard (1.5syns), Sweet Potato Wedges (Free), Carrots (Free), 1 pint of water.

Then it all went a bit wrong!! :o I had about 15 chocs last night - thankfully myboyf was there to eat the other half of the box, or I'd have scoffed the lot!! I'm gonna just forget it, and get back on plan again today!!

Yersterday was also the first time I've tried Kippers (it's one of my new years resolutions to eat more fish, as I hardly eat any...) - they pretty good, but they aren't half difficult/messy to eat!! Does anyone have any tips for getting the bones out?

No, I didnt pile my plate up. It was a school dinner, so kid sized 'tato n beans :p

I did have a huge bowl of soup though, but I make it myself so no fat at all, just a syn for the stock cube.

    Am I going wrong

Doesn't sound like a lot at all Spud - maybe I just have a huge appetite, but I'd never be full on just a bowl of soup for tea! If it's working for you, then great, but I'd be worried that you're not getting completely satisfied on what you're eating? So therefore might not find it easy to stick to long-term?

Just a thought as well - if you make the soup with Bovril (From the jar) rather than a stock cube, there are no syns at all. So that would be syns saved to use on something else to treat yourself? ;)

    xx
