Marion I use my Remsoska for casseroles all the time (saw in an earlier post that you have one), I do use a casserole dish though otherwise it browns the top of it a bit too much.

I love my Moz cooker, havent used my main oven since September:D it is now cupboard space.

I know what you mean, I do love my remmies (both of them:o) but I do find for tougher cuts of cheap meat that a slower cooking time is needed. Plus my kitchen is freezing at the moment so I am looking for an excuse to warm it up:rotfl:!

I must confess I'm a wee bit apprehensive about the new thing, mainly cos' the old way has worked so well.
Is it because I am afraid of change?

I'm willing to give it a really good go rugby mum and so far it seems great. For me, the old SW plans get me into a rut after only days and I get bored.

For me, the new plan seems very similar to the WW Core Plan with just a few tweaks.

Thank you for that consultant31:beer: I have stuck to it 100% since Mondays weigh in except for New Years Eve and of course everyone knows that New Years doesn't count:p:rotfl:
How did you get on, havn't seen you on here for a few days?

    Marion

I actually lost weight but not the good way, lol.

The whole family have been laid up with some awful bug which arrived with my DH on Christmas Eve and left via baby Grandson, DD1, DD2, Son-in-law and finally, me, on New Years Day - it's not been a good time and the wasted food makes me want to weep. But, hey-ho, there's always a silver lining and the 5lbs off is it for me :D
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Evening all - Ive just had the nicest tea all made by my own fair hand - which is a massive thing for me considering a year ago I considered putting something in the microwave as cooking!

Anyways used my new steamer that my team at work bought me to do some rice and had that with syn free sausages (our local butcher sells them and they are yummy!), onions, mushrooms, garlic, tinned toms and seasoning. It was lovely and even the kids ate it!

I am following extra easy for a couple of weeks to see how it goes.

Hope everyone is ok x x

This came to my attention before the holidays and it made me smile cos I can see myself in it here and there. I read it out in my groups in the hope it would have an effect (it did a bit, lol). I know it's too late now but thought it might make some of you think how easy it is to lose the plot:-

It’s Christmas morning, the children are up and it’s only 6am, Mrs Sogood didn’t get to bed until 1am (after eating Santa’s mince pie and drinking his glass of sherry and, for a bit of speed food, eating Rudolph’s carrot).

She puts on the kettle and makes a cup of milky coffee and adds just one spoonful of sugar.
Presents opened in record time, she decides to have breakfast. Bran flakes and 1 Ryvita is her first HEB of the day. She tips them into a bowl then remembers to check the weight. Yes as she thought, well over an ounce. She takes out the extra and puts them into her mouth. She sloshes in the milk and adds a spoonful of sugar to sweeten. As it’s Christmas day she treats herself to a small glass of fresh orange.
The children only want toast so she butters 4 slices cuts off the crusts and without thinking swallows them!

Mid morning while preparing the veg she enjoys a glass or two of champagne…….well, it is Christmas day! For lunch, Mrs Sogood enjoys a starter of melon and prawns on a bed of lettuce with a drizzle of sauce.
For main course she has mashed potato made with a dash of cream, roast potato and parsnips cooked in the turkey fat, sprouts, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, turkey (113g), pickled onions, a dollop of stuffing, home made gravy and 1 tablespoon of cranberry jelly. All this washed down with a toast of champagne and a bottle of white wine.

She serves the family with Christmas pudding and hot brandy sauce testing the sauce to check it is piping hot. She feels very virtuous for resisting the pudding!
As she clears up, she finishes 2 potatoes from the children’s plate.

Mrs Sogood then prepares the cheese and crackers, just tasting crumbs from each of the 6 cheeses. She allows herself 5 crackers and puts what looks like an ounce of Camembert on her plate as her second HEA. This is enjoyed with a glass of Port.

After lunch the family sit to watch the television and rest.

During the evening the children open the tin of Roses and give Mum 5 of her favourites, the purple one with the nut in the middle. It’s OK she thinks I didn’t have any Christmas pudding so she rewards herself.

7pm she makes turkey, stuffing and cranberry sandwiches. It’s on brown bread so she counts her 2nd HEB of the day. One mince pie and a smallish slice of Christmas cake for afters. While enjoying the film out comes the Baileys and after the joy of the day allows herself a good slug over ice.

A milky coffee with just 2 After 8 mints finishes off the ‘not too bad’ Food Optimising Christmas day.

Mrs Sogood thinks she may have over-done the syns just a little, having maybe an extra 20 to 25 on top of the 15 she has normally……...........

3 syns for 50 ml sherry

  • Hello,

I am definitely definitely back on the diet as of Monday. I have managed to put on almost a stone since July and can feel every single extra roll of flab. Sooo it's time to get off the sofa and restart SW. I am hoping that this thread will inspire me and keep me on track. My first goal is losing that 14lbs!

Thanks and happy Slimming New Year :o
