Where is everyone
Just an update... and would like some advice/suggestions please if someone wouldn't mind..?
Couldn't be bothered prepping veg for dinner so just had salad and some more cottage cheese with it. Just had a cup of tea with 2 jaffa cakes and really enjoyed them
I noticed that some of you are having pasta and sauces and things like that for lunch. I haven't bought a huge amount of processed food for quite some time now and tbh, I'd rather manage without if I can, although they seem ideal as 'free' lunch. I've been buying meat from a local farm shop and the only processed stuff I buy is mainly cereal and an odd few other bits. I make my own biscuits (Twinks Hobnobs on the OS board, lush) and the odd banana bread etc for snacks.
I don't want to keep taking sandwiches but think I may have to as I can't be bothered to make pasta or rice up every night when it's a green day. I only have a microwave at work. I may make a load of veg soup up at the weekend but that will only work for the next few weeks as the summer will soon be here (hopefully).
Dinners I think I'll be okay with once I get my head around things a bit more. We don't eat a vast amount of potatoes. Here are some of the dinners we eat to give you an idea of what I cook:
sausage casserole - farm shop high % meat sausages, passata, onions, carrots, mushrooms, herbs. Probably have this with more veg or occasionally mashed sweet potato.
wholewheat spaghetti/linguine with onion, garlic, pancetta, sundried tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, chilli oil, bit of parmesan on top.
chilli fajitas - homemade chilli, wraps, salad, cheese, sour cream
(sometimes do this with a fajita mix, chick peas and butternut squash).
farm shop steak and stilton burgers, roll, homemade potato wedges, beans/salad.
mixed beans, passata, whatever veg I have in, herbs, on a bed of sweet potato mash with some light garlic soft cheese stirred in somewhere.
Roast chicken, roast pots, all the trimmings, 3-4 veg
Chicken, leek and mushroom pie with sliced sweet potato topping, plus a couple of veg.
Roasted veg - butternut squash, mushrooms, red onion, carrots, parsnips, peppers, tomatoes, courgettes with sausages or chick peas.
Homemade pizza occasionally. Lidl pizza (doctored) even more occasionally.
Homemade curry (usually chicken) and brown basmati rice.
Do have fish now and again but DD1 and I are not big fans
Lunches are any old sandwich if I take one from home, banana, packet of crisps (cheese curls, crinkle cheddars, etc)
If I buy one from the sandwich man it's either coronation chicken salad or something cheesy. With Thai Sensations
Or I'll go to the supermarket in my lunchbreak and buy a roll, a slice of ham, some coleslaw and a packet of Thai Sensations. Probably no fruit.
What can I do for lunch which doesn't involve too much work but isn't repetitive? I get home from work at just before 6 and by the time I've fed the animals, made dinner, eaten it, cleared up, walked dog, I don't feel like making any more food. I prefer to grab something in the morning but only have 5 minutes to do this in as I can't seem to get up any earlier at the moment.
Any ideas or am I expecting a miracle?

PS - sorry about the 'war and peace' post...
TBH with you i didn't have the quiche, i do like the taste( but have not had since found out additives) and have made my own pasta version, adding spices and cornflour(have to syn these) and can do a red day quiche without the sauces. I very rarely buy anything processed, but i had quorn mince spag bol instead.
If you have a slow cooker there are lots of recipes which allow you to pre prepare using some of ingredients above.
Sausage casserole? I haven't checked whether your sausages would be syn free, but in past have made my own.
Butternut squash and red pepper soup very nice. Can be made in evening and re heated up. I have had this with HM bread ( have weighed in order to get syn value)
I have not worked out hobnob value yet as adore twinks hobnobs.
Sometimes for work it is hard and you will have to either compromise or pre bake.
In the past i used to make my own little salad bowls, fresh fruit etc.
I would add cooked meats from chicken, or ham. I have varied this and have taken in HM soup, and stews in a flask.
There is a link somewhere about lunches so will have a hunt for it.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I used to use a fake email address when I used to register (shhhhh!) but always managed to get in with the password. I don't know if this is still the case, but I *think* the passwords may actually last for 2 weeks??? I have just re-registered with the password 'blackberry' and it has let me in. I had to say which group I 'cough cough' attend so dunno if they will check?!?! Oh well! I am in for a few days at least!:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -
It doesnt matter if you use your real email address, they only tend to email you if you havent signed in for a while as they delete you if you havent visited for 6 weeks.0

Thank you.
I've been looking for the magazine but they've not had one in any of the shops I've been into lately.
I'm really tired so I'm going to take the dog out quickly and go to bed. I think it's going to be ryvita tomorrow with cheese triangles (snore...) but it'll do for now and I can explore the site a bit more tomorrow.
Thanks for the ideas and tips and the log in info.
Night everyone x0
