Back from shopping - cupboards, fridge and freezer now bulging so no excuses for me!
Will weigh myself before work and make a note of my starting weight (not brave enough to post it yet) and hopefully this time next week I will be looking forward to getting on the scales!
Is everyone all ready to go? x x x xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

Ive joined in too.I had been doing ww but not doing so well it gives me too much scope.Im going to a meeting in the morning, just until I get the hang of it.
A few people I work with have lost tons of weight on this diet.Im keeping it secret too, OH will be at work when I go meeting so wont know, im fed up of doing diets and failing.
Is this diet good for home cooking? Will I be able to have my egg and soldiers for brekky?0 -
Hi everyone
Thanks for posting your menus. It's a big help.
I was getting in a stress last night about today's red day but it was actually okay and went as planned.
Breakfast was porridge with 1/2 banana and skimmed milk (a) Glass of orange juice (2.5 syns)
Lunch - cottage cheese, slice of ham and salad sandwich on 2 slices of wholemeal bread (b), 1 x extra light laughing cow triangle, 1 x light babybel (a) banana, mullerlight and a few grapes. (Think I ate too much for lunch but it was all allowed I reckon, as can have either 6 extra light laughing cow triangles or 3 light babybel as an (a) so should be able to mix and match?)
Dinner will be leftover cottage pie with celeriac and swede topping with butternut squash, broccoli and mushrooms.
I'm quite lucky in that I never really want to snack in the evenings. I do miss having something sweet (ie biscuity/cakey) after my dinner with a cup of tea, but I think I'll start having a jaffa cake or 2 as they're only 2.5 syns each and the only other syns I seem to be having are mainly the orange juice.
Are we def weighing in tomorrow then? Am nervous as the scales don't seem to be telling me I've lost anything but my clothes do. Prob TOTM though but will keep fingers crossed that I'll have lost a bit.
Off to do prep some veg and do some housework now as it's a tip in here. Then I'll plan tomorrow's green day. I also have some questions for you more experienced people!

Where is everyone
Just an update... and would like some advice/suggestions please if someone wouldn't mind..?
Couldn't be bothered prepping veg for dinner so just had salad and some more cottage cheese with it. Just had a cup of tea with 2 jaffa cakes and really enjoyed them
I noticed that some of you are having pasta and sauces and things like that for lunch. I haven't bought a huge amount of processed food for quite some time now and tbh, I'd rather manage without if I can, although they seem ideal as 'free' lunch. I've been buying meat from a local farm shop and the only processed stuff I buy is mainly cereal and an odd few other bits. I make my own biscuits (Twinks Hobnobs on the OS board, lush) and the odd banana bread etc for snacks.
I don't want to keep taking sandwiches but think I may have to as I can't be bothered to make pasta or rice up every night when it's a green day. I only have a microwave at work. I may make a load of veg soup up at the weekend but that will only work for the next few weeks as the summer will soon be here (hopefully).
Dinners I think I'll be okay with once I get my head around things a bit more. We don't eat a vast amount of potatoes. Here are some of the dinners we eat to give you an idea of what I cook:
sausage casserole - farm shop high % meat sausages, passata, onions, carrots, mushrooms, herbs. Probably have this with more veg or occasionally mashed sweet potato.
wholewheat spaghetti/linguine with onion, garlic, pancetta, sundried tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, chilli oil, bit of parmesan on top.
chilli fajitas - homemade chilli, wraps, salad, cheese, sour cream
(sometimes do this with a fajita mix, chick peas and butternut squash).
farm shop steak and stilton burgers, roll, homemade potato wedges, beans/salad.
mixed beans, passata, whatever veg I have in, herbs, on a bed of sweet potato mash with some light garlic soft cheese stirred in somewhere.
Roast chicken, roast pots, all the trimmings, 3-4 veg
Chicken, leek and mushroom pie with sliced sweet potato topping, plus a couple of veg.
Roasted veg - butternut squash, mushrooms, red onion, carrots, parsnips, peppers, tomatoes, courgettes with sausages or chick peas.
Homemade pizza occasionally. Lidl pizza (doctored) even more occasionally.
Homemade curry (usually chicken) and brown basmati rice.
Do have fish now and again but DD1 and I are not big fans
Lunches are any old sandwich if I take one from home, banana, packet of crisps (cheese curls, crinkle cheddars, etc)
If I buy one from the sandwich man it's either coronation chicken salad or something cheesy. With Thai Sensations
Or I'll go to the supermarket in my lunchbreak and buy a roll, a slice of ham, some coleslaw and a packet of Thai Sensations. Probably no fruit.
What can I do for lunch which doesn't involve too much work but isn't repetitive? I get home from work at just before 6 and by the time I've fed the animals, made dinner, eaten it, cleared up, walked dog, I don't feel like making any more food. I prefer to grab something in the morning but only have 5 minutes to do this in as I can't seem to get up any earlier at the moment.
Any ideas or am I expecting a miracle?

yep. you can eat as many mullerlights as you fancy on green or red.
I'll find you some free or low syn yoghurts, give me a mo.
Edit:
Muller light Layers (jam on the bottom kind of thing) - 1.5 syns
WW Fromage Frais or Fruity on the Bottom or Thick and Creamy - 0.5 syns each
Sainsbury Low Price (I guess the mean like Value) - 1 syn each
Tesco Low fat yoghurt - raspberry - 1.5
Tesco yoghurt, custard style, rhubarb crumble - 1.5
Mullerlight with cake pieces - lemoncheesecake - 0.5
Mullerlight with cake pieces - apple pie - 1
Muller Fruit Corner Black Cherry or Raspberry and Strawberry - 1.5
Nestle Sveltesse 0.3% rhubarb crumble - 1
Nestle Sveltesse 0.3% Apricot Tart - 1.5
Nestle Sveltesse 0.7% Lemon Cheesecake - 1.5
Ski Light , Peach/Raspberry/Strawberry/Cheery - 1.5
many standard yoghurts are around 2 or 2.5 and then the luxury ones are around 3 or 3.5.
Also, Shape lasting satisfaction are free and very creamy, I used to eat Mullers but dont touch them now I have the Shapes lol0 -

One idea that I sometimes take in for lunch is cous cous (as literally takes a few mminutes) and chopped up Quorn sausages as this is usually free on a Green day. At the moment I have been eating home made soup and ryvitas but am getting a bit fed up of that, and as many have said already, will probably get too hot for soup soon...we wish! I have been taking fruit in too as I find it great to snack on when I am bored (I mean working!) and I have also started to drink a lot more water as that is good for you!?!:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0
