Hi nickynoo - can I ask how tall you are? We weigh roughly the same, I'm 5` 7" and I'm not really sure what weight loss to aim for?! Obviously in the SW classes they focus more on you being mature adults and choosing your own weight loss - but I'm a bit clueless at where I'd like to be! ;)

PS Does anyone have any idea of how much general weight loss you need to drop one dress size? Or is that just too vague a question?
on average a stone is a dress size but it really depends on where you start off and how your body adapts to weightloss and in what areas you lose it most..
oh by the way welcome to you:D

Jeez that seems such a lot!! I almost can't imagine ever being any thinner than I am now - but I suppose with a bit of hard work i'll get there!! Thanks for that - and thanks for the welcome! :D

Lou - I Just weighed in, I'm sitting at a grand total of 10stone 8, and would like to be at 10 stone by Christmas! So obviously for now, I'm aiming for 8lbs weight loss, then I'll take it from there!

The last time I did the diet there was one really good stand by we found from going to the class. Have any of you ever used the Mayflower curry sauce? You can buy it for a pound in Farmfoods (so very MSE!) it has about 18 sins per tub, buy as you would only use 1/3 of the tub to make a curry which feeds 4 - if you use quorn (or meat as a healthy extra), it only has 1.5 sins per serving! Or alternatively have it with the sin free chips!!

Maybe not the most nutritious of meals - but since take aways are a big weakness - I found it to be a great thing to keep in the cupboard!!

Anyways - ramble over! - You can tell I'm off work and bored!! :rotfl:

Laura I have added you to the Spreadsheet.

Just been to weigh in and have lost another 1.5lbs this week, which I am happy with..............slow and steady thats the way I like it ;):D

Feel alot better too and I am now enjoying a strawberry fromage frais to celebrate:beer:
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

I have seen that Mayflower curry sauce but have never tried it to be honest. Is it supposed to be like the chinese curry you get from takeaways if it is then I think I will give it a try:D

  • well there we go i did it, i had to lose 1.5 to get my stone and half award and i did it with 2lb to spare, yep i lost another 3.5lbs this week so am well chuffed, im just half a pound off my club 10 award which i will get next week..
lou the curry is like what you get from the chinese takeaway, its in powder form and you mix it with water and bring to the boil on the hob, it thickens and you add it to your meats and veggies, it is really lovely curry sauce and i had no idea it was so low in syns.
well done to you tonight Lou youre doing really well.

Hiya i'm also 5ft 7. My goal is deffinately a psycological one, it's what i weighed pre pregnancy so i know its doable. Since having my little un i've not managed to get below 10st 4 and its really frustrating. SW worked wonders for me in the past so hoping it'll work just as well this time.

Not had the best of starts today:o. It's my little uns 2nd birthday tomoro and we're having a small party. All the goodies have already been bought and i dread to think how many syns i may end up consuming. I'll just have to keep the rest of the week syn free and do some much needed exercise to make up for it.

Well done everyone on your weightlosses and well done northern lass for your 1.5 award.

My 2nd week weigh in is tomorrow morning I would love to lose 4lb and get my stone award but I think 2 is more realistic.

Had ham salad for lunch with fruit and a mullerlight and I am having gammon grilled with stir fried veg for tea and mullerlight after so had a good day today.

Keep going everyone we are doing really well. x x x
