New to SW this week, have done ok through the week although I keep getting myself in a right state about what I am going to eat.
Tonight though I am going for a curry with friends.
Looking in my book, I can have a lamg rogan josh for 6.5 syns, it doesn't say anything about chicken, would that be the same?
Also could I have a seekh kebab if they have done it on the coals and not fried it as that would be just meat wouldn't it.
Also I haven't had any b choices, could I have a chapati.
I know my first week and already having a curry but am trying to do it as syns but am stuck, I need to get ready to go but I am too busy thinking about what to eat. I like my curry with sauce.
Thanks
Jules
try and go for anything dry if possible i know you have said you like a curry with sauce so try the roagn josh it is the best one as far as the SW site states
a chapati is 7.5syns on both days and cant be used as a HB choice, sorry
Onion bajhis are 8.5 syns each
and plain naan bread is 20syns each
an indian is not the best meal to have opn the s/w plan so i would listen to Lou and enjoy your night and draw a line under it tomorrow after all thats why s/w have flexi syns.DFW red and green memberDoing my best to lose weight and save money0 -
OK, its the weekend and last night I was so good:A
I made myself some carrot and pepper batons and had some hummous dip as one of my healthy extras and I also (carefully to get the last drop) measured out 175ml of red wine for 6 syns.
Actually that is almost 2 glasses so I didnt feel as though I was missing out at all.
Tonight I am hosting a family fireworks bash so I am going to make a huge quorn chilli and a pan of rice and some jacket potatoes with cheese (I will measure mine out in advance so no-one notices;) )
Hot dogs for the kids which I dont like anyway (lips and a-holes) bluehh.
Have a good weekend everyone.
P.S. our spreadsheet is filling up nicely:DBut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
Well, I actually did a food shop yeaterday. DH has been for the past few weeks, for one reason or another.
Anyhoo, the house is now full to the rafters of SW friendly food, so Monday it is. I WILL lose weight before ChristmasIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Mainly cos I had a fab bacon & egg breakfast before kids football!
Found fab sausage shop which does SW approved sausages! 1/2 syn for two plain pork and 1 syn for two pork & leek (on red) yipee! Sausage "sarnie" here I come.LBM:FEB 2008

You mean that there is a shop that just sells sausages?
I am not a great fan of sausages but if you can get ones that are only 1/2 syn for 2 then I wouldnt mind trying them.
And no I am not being rude cheeky lot:rolleyes:But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
Having a good day today, Ive just finished using up my Halloween pumpkin i bought for £1.50 last week. At the beginning of the week I made Pumpkin Goulash that was free on Green, on the 2nd night I made it into a curry and had it with rice, also free on Green. I also had loads to freeze.
I just used the other half of my pumpkin and made Carrot, pumpkin and lentil soup also free on green and loads to freeze. These dishes were all really cheap and stuff my toddlers will happily eat also, so that makes life a whole lots easier.
Tonight I will be having the soup with 2 slices of nimble bread (HEB) and ive saved syns for a couple glasses of wine. and i may make SW chips to munch along with the wine so I don't feel like crisps
hope you are all having a nice weekend:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
me again, can anyone tell me if i make a rice pudding, using pudding rice, Splenda, milk from HEA and counting 2 tsp of clover light into my syns, is the rest free?
I fancied making something yummy for after dinner, the only other thing i was going to add is a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg.
I cant see why it wouldn't be free as everything just gets bunged in and put in the oven for 2 hours.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
