well, I am a bit put out, but not put off!

I put on half a pound, and have no idea why! I had a green day yesterday, so probably weighed with all that pasta, really must learn not to have a green so close to weigh in! I have also been doing lots of exercise, so it could be that.

But, still focused, still ok with it all, and hope to see a loss next week :)

Hi shal, I am a prison nurse - adult trained. am doing my MA in medical law and ethics via distance learning. am hoping to retrain to be a solicitor specialising in medical law. it seems a loooong way off at the moment thou!!!!
dont get me wrong, I love nursing but when you work where i do, you get no thanks and it becomes very demoralising. you also get to see the real inequalities in health. prisoners get everything they ask for, demand the best in healthcare and are given it, whilst the nursing home where I work bank struggles to get money for the very basicist of equiptment and medicines. makes you realist very quickly that things need to change - I cant do that doing what I do at the moment - am hoping to work my way to the top and conquer the world!!!!! lol
Good luck with it all, you must be really committed to do all that distance learning.
Sorry about that Im just really nosey, when you meet people on the net I end up giving them an imaginary face and imaginary settings, never dreamed of putting you in a prison.I was seeing you on a ward, maybe as a modern matron.Medical law sounds really interesting, I did a 2 day course with hospital solicitors once it was one of the best courses I ever did, I was riveted by their stories.Hope you do well, shal x

Lucy, I am 35 and overweight, I wear size 20 clothes and im only 5 feet.I do have a hubbie and 2 children.I am unhappy because I am in a job and I like it but I know I can do so much more, I have been up for promotion so many times, my manager rings me constantly to apply but I cant do it, I know I can do a higher job but I dont have the confidence to apply because of my weight I feel little, fat and insignificant.I am the person everyone comes to for help and advice, I have so many colleagues that always push me to apply but I just cant until I lose weight.
Im waffling but I would like you to stay on SW with me, (I dont go to class) and we will do this together, we will get there and feel more confident in our lives.I will support you and we will have lots of support from our friends on here, my colleagues were having a chinese and when I said I wouldnt because im doing SW one of them said "your always on a diet but you never lose any weight".Well I am going to make her eat her words.
    Love Shal xxx

Well done Shal your being so positive, :T I get that as well about always being on a diet. the best thing is not to take notice of what others may think and just think about yourself "show em" you can do it, :T that is lovely what you wrote to Lucy giving her encouragement. :T I don't go to class either, I should know how to lose the weight being an ex consultant, :o but believe me I find it just as hard as everyone else.

Lucy please don't do option 3 you could make matters a lot worse for yourself. I will look out some more off my low syn Recipes and post them in to see if they might give you some help. bubsy

Tell the cheeky mare that SW is not a diet anyway, it's a healthy eating plan, which takes time but teaches the value of eating everything in moderation.

Your attitude is very positive and I look forward to hearing reports of weight losses on a regular basis and promotions following suit - well done :T

Well, I havent been well today, really painful throat and dizzy spells, so I havent really eaten much today.

    1 hifi bar (HEB)

2 x wholemeal bread (HEB) and poached eggs.

    1 banana

    1 hifi bar (6 syns)

    Quorn rice and HM chilli.

And now I am drinking wine oops, dread to think of the syns, but I need the night "off". I think my day has been ok, though could have been better. May have some strawberries with natural yog later, might stave off the choc craving I currently have.

    Hiya all,

I've been a lurker for a while on MSE. Decided that I needed to register and start posting when I saw this thread that really relates to me. Saving money everywhere except for SW. Still spending £5 per week on class and losing nothing. Not because it doesn't work, purely because I can't get in the mind set to follow it.

So, can I join? :j Need some ideas that don't involve spending £100 plus a week on food just for me and some motivation to avoid the wine and get back into the size 12 clothes I have but haven't worn for about 8 years.
