Hi everyone
well done everyone on their weight losses this week.
I lost 1lb I am very pleased to say. I think some of it is due to my new little puppy Carrie a toy poodle, she is such a little cutie and when she is not sleeping I have to be running around quite a lot house training her, and the rest!!:rotfl: she is a full time job, she is only 8 weeks old. My other dog bouncer another poodle who is a larger breed a miniture, is having a dogs life at the moment,Carrie wants to chase Bouncer all the time, When she is not asleep and he dose not want any of it. :rotfl:
Have a good day everyone.bubsy0 -
Re Dr's - I spoke to my Dr about weight loss and he said that the 'easiest' way was to reduce your calories and increase exercise.... easy yeah right!! Or he mentioned some tablets which stop your body absorbing fat (think free mars bars all the yumminess and none of the bad stuff!) but I don't think this would deal with the under lying issue of why I eat.
You can't eat fatty things - so no free mars bars. If you don't absorb the fat - it has to come out. Imagine raw fat coming from where the sun don't shine...Which as a matter of fact is generally because I am bored, stressed or unhappy. And then when I eat I become more stressed and unhappy as I feel guilty (yes shoot me now :rotfl:)
OK - what are you stressed about? What are you unhappy about? What are you going to be doing about those problems?

Hey guys - just updated the spreadsheet but I'd got a bit behind so I'm not sure if I've got everyone.
Having a bit of a crap time so I haven't been posting (or eating healthily), and I've put on 1lb. Hopefully I will be back and posting more regularly soon (cos I miss ya
).
I've been really good for the last couple of days, in the hope that losing a bit more weight will make me feel back in control of something at least. Usually I would use 'having a shatty time' as an excuse to eat lots of chocolate (and put on half a stone ), so I'm glad I'm not doing that so much this time at least.
Just as a strange aside, I've got a plaster on my finger and I can't work the touchpad on my laptop with it.....how weird!! How does it know???? :rotfl:
(okay, my brain has clearly been fried with all the stress....)
Well done to those who have lost, and (((hugs))) to those who are struggling a bit."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Hi roomies
hope you are all well.
have had a couple of very stressful days - thought I was ahving some kind of breakdown last night. had 2 x 5000 word essays to finish by today for my masters in medical law - very intense!!!
still had 2500 words to write last night and every time i looked at the screen, I cried cause I thought there is no way I can do it. these are the first round of essays and if I dont pass I cant do the rest of the course!!! and I've paid 4k for it (see signiture!!! - took out a loan to do it!)
any way, my OH bless his heart was so positive and had so much belief in me that I managed to finish today at 7.30pm!!
But it means that I have eaten loads of chocolate and biscuits and pop these past 4 days that I dread to think what its done to me. bear in mind that I have lost 20lb so far, I dont want to start going backwards.
another big BUT - I will get back on track. nothing i can do about my results now. so am going to consentrate on me.
am working the next 3 days (12.5hr shifts) but have loads of tesco own raviolli (thanks cleosmum!) to keep me going!
good luck everyone and please stay positive - It really helps others when the rest of the group remain upbeat and positive.
keep smiling

After a bad experience on them my doctor then put me on reductil which work by reducing your appetite, they did work in conjunction with the healthy eating of slimming world and i went on to lose 5 stones in 4 months,:j sadly regaining it as soon as i stopped the pills and SW as i thought i could do it myself, so here i am again this time without the pills, but with all the lovely food slimming world has to offer.:T
Lucy, if i were to choose one of your options i would go for option 1, simply because, and this is my opinion, your body needs energy to burn and if you limit the energy you give it the slower your metabolism goes and the less weight you lose, like i said this is what happens to me, but everyone is different. good luck whatever you decide and you know we are behind you and will give you all the support we can to help you on your way.:kisses:DFW red and green memberDoing my best to lose weight and save money0 -
What course are you doing Jennyred? It sounds interesting, what job do you do? I thought you might be a nurse but you sound much more intellegent than I am (im RN Child).
Sorry im just nosey.0 -
Good first day today. Managed to eat reasonably well, kept it to 1,750 calories or thereabouts, and had twenty minutes on the exercise bike tonight. I only went 2.62 miles which is painfully slow but it will be interesting ( to me anyway ) to see after a few days and weeks of this, whether that distance increases....0

Morning guys.
I need some help (as normal )
I am really not sure what to do. Here is my problem. I am over weight, single and about to turn 26 (on Monday ) and I am desperately unhappy about this.
So I can take control and lose the weight, which will give me the confidence to 'get out there' (as my mother puts it :rotfl:) Easier said than done!! So what do I do
So far I can come up with 3 options:
Option 1 - Keep going with Slimming World, but at home and allow myself treats every now and then (i.e the weight watcher quiche I have just discovered! 15.5 syns  ) and see what happens
Option 2 - I stick to a calorie controlled diet, allowing myself about 1800 calories a day which can be increased through exercise and have a little of all the things I like and means I should lose about 1lb a week
Option 3 - Get over it and accept myself the way I am.
With ever I choose I need to do more exercise... any would be good  which will tone me up and hopefully things wont wobble so much

So any suggestions? I feel much calmer now and having had a read of Chips Diary I think I need to have a bit of a life re think to. I need to get a handle on everything and start living my life rather than just exisiting!
Thanks for listening and I am sorry if i am being a pain!
xx
Im waffling but I would like you to stay on SW with me, (I dont go to class) and we will do this together, we will get there and feel more confident in our lives.I will support you and we will have lots of support from our friends on here, my colleagues were having a chinese and when I said I wouldnt because im doing SW one of them said "your always on a diet but you never lose any weight".Well I am going to make her eat her words.

Hi shal, I am a prison nurse - adult trained. am doing my MA in medical law and ethics via distance learning. am hoping to retrain to be a solicitor specialising in medical law. it seems a loooong way off at the moment thou!!!!
dont get me wrong, I love nursing but when you work where i do, you get no thanks and it becomes very demoralising. you also get to see the real inequalities in health. prisoners get everything they ask for, demand the best in healthcare and are given it, whilst the nursing home where I work bank struggles to get money for the very basicist of equiptment and medicines. makes you realist very quickly that things need to change - I cant do that doing what I do at the moment - am hoping to work my way to the top and conquer the world!!!!! lol0
