Water drinking seems to have become very contraversal, for years everyone was told to drink two litres of water a day plus whatever else ie coffee, tea, soft drinks etc, but recently reports have come out that as long as your fluid intake is two litres a day it doesn't matter how it's made up!
Just as a matter of interest when I did Lighter Life, four years ago we were told to drink at least 4 litres of water a day, and there were times I managed 6+, never had any adverse reactions and after a while even your bladder manages to cope with this amount. Will admit once off diet never drank anything like that volume again, but I also reverted to all my other bad habits and regained the weight lost (7st) very quickly.0 -
I would be very careful with the water, drinking a large quantity very fast can dampen down and lower your bodys sodium content. This can lead to feelings similar to hangover and fitting.
Anyway, I have decided to quit class.Today I have no money to go and due to OH work pattern I very rarely stay after being weighed because I have the children with me.
I am however determined to carry on with the diet, using the support given on here.
Today I have had...
breakfast - boiled egg, 2 nimble wm (HEB), utterly butterly 1.5 syns.
Lunch - Bacon (fat removed), tinned tomatoes, poached egg, mushrooms
mullerlight and a peach.
I have also made my own food diary sheets on the computer. My consultant said not to bother with the food diary after the first 4 weeks, as the food ends up ruling you and the diet should become a way of life.I understand what she is saying but I like having the diary, as I easily "forget" what I have eaten if it isnt in black and white and I can refer back to good weeks for inspiration on what to eat.
So guys I will be counting on you for support from now on, for the sheet snaggles I maintained this week.I blame my mother for that, OH is on lates and I have been invitied to dinner 3 evenings involving homemade hot pot, homemade bread (irrisistable), bacon ribs with buttered cabbage and mashed potatoes and a home roast involving gravy made with fat and meat juices. She is a wonderful cook and the kids love dinner at grandmas but her cooking probably accounts for the size I am.I am not even going to start on the homemade cheesecake and scones.0 -
Well done supersavershal on managing to maintain I know that with that selection I would have gained, mouth still watering!
I'm another one who is relying on here to help me stick to this diet, had a wobbly last night, but although I ate loads I did stick to the diet but will be amazed if I've lost this week, last night I had both HEAs x 2 and HEBs x 2 plus a tin of ravioli and a packet of french fries (syns) in the space of two hours, I really had a bad case of the munchies, had to take myself to bed before I did myself any harm :eek:0 -
Weekly Update is
I have lost 0/zero/nada/diddlysquat lbs:o
But at least I havent put any on.
I am really going to be good this week as no meals out planned.........so far.
You lot are doing great though:TBut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
Hi everyone. Congrats on all the losses.
Snaggles can you put me down for no loss. Quite pleased with that as had bad weekend before that weigh in. Not looking forward to weigh day this friday as have had long weekend off work and not been very good - alot of alcohol has been consumed!0 -
If we eat the same things day in day out then our bodies get used to it, make some big changes to give your metabolism a shake up. I reckon trying mix2max will be good, but for a good boost its worth trying to fit in 2 or 3 success express days in to your week.
I have been eating the same old things pretty much (I'm not giving up the jaffa cakes though, they keep me on the straight and narrow). I will have a look at success express, I don't really know what it is. Thanks.
I have been really, really hungry today. I had 2 x weetabix (HEB) and skimmed milk (HEA).
Starving at 10.15 so had a banana. Still starving at 10.30 so ate my light alpen bar (3 syns).
Still hungry at 10.45 so ate a wholemeal roll (HEB) with marmite and laughing cow triangles (HEA).
12.00 I ate another banana.
1.00 is lunchtime but I'd eaten it all and was still hungry
So I bought 2 chicken thighs and had about 1/3 of a tub of cottage cheese and a mullerlight.
It's dinnertime now and I'm really not hungry! I may make chicken kiev and have it with a bit of salad. And some jaffa cakes
If I did weigh myself this morning (which of course I didn't) I may have discovered I'd lost 1/2lb despite feeling like I'd maybe put on...
Will weigh in again on Friday, same as last week.

Hi northernlass I can't be sure, but I don't see why you can't have the cheese triangles as an HEA being as they are 50% less fat, sometimes have 1oz of 1/2fat chedder as my HEA.
I would think they were something around the same as the laughing cow triangles, and those are aloud. Don't just take my word for it, someone else might be able to tell you. bubsy0 -
Although I've had a red day up until dinner, I went for green, as in mix2match (or whatever it's called).
Was going to have chicken kiev but DD1 wanted fishcakes. So we had 1 and 1/2 homemade fishcakes each (out of the freezer) and sw chips and spaghetti hoops (yuk). I have counted a generous 6 syns for the fish (I don't think there was anywhere near 6 syns worth but I'd rather err on the safe side).
Also had 2 jaffa cakes so with the light alpen bar this morning, that's a total of 13 syns today. Feel like I've eaten loads and that I've been naughty. Just over 2 weeks until my holiday and I haven't done any exercise yet. Really need to tone up else I'll be too scared to stand up in a bikini0 -
Morning
Well I am going to try and put the last few days behind me (again!) Today I am trying a red day  And will hopefully do ok.
So
Breakfast - sausages, bacon and cheesy scrambled egg (HE A)
Snacks - Fruit Salad
Lunch - Ham and Bacon Salad with rest of Cheese from breakfast
Snack - Chicken pieces
Dinner - Either Roast chicken, veg and potatoes or Gamon steak.
I am also aiming to drink my 4 litres of water today and so far I am nearly 1.5 litres in!! Man do I need a wee!!!
I also have some diet cola and loads of other free food with me, but I just need to get through the withdrawal symptoms and properly kick this weight into touch!!!
Love you all x
Hi Lucy your daily quote looks good for a red day. I know we can do food optomising but, when I am on a red day I have plenty of veg but I leave the potatoes alone, I have always felt that Protein & carbohydrayes don't go too well together.
If I have potatoes with meat I never lose any weight, but then thats me, but I try to leave potatoes for a green day, just a thought you might like to try it this way. bubsy0
